Monthly Post & CR Meme #11: Hide and Seek
MONTHLY POST
- Happy March, Dreamers! It's been a hot minute, but March means it's time for our third Disturbance event! As with all Disturbance plots, there will be limited signup slots for the boss battle at the end so be sure to sign up quick if you're interested!
In addition, we have a few OOC notes and updates!
- ⧖ Tandem Powers are now available as upgrades on the Powers page! You can take a gander at the writeup there for more info.
⧖ i completely fucking forgor to make official mention of this but there's now some extra points rewards over over the Bonus Threads page! This includes permanent additional character slots and some more tools for managing Risk in Excursions and Torment Hunts.
⧖ The Great January Dogmergency and the Great February I'm Gonna Die Disease (I Caught A Cold) have made it clear that while things are trucking along just fine now, having some extra helping hands on board for running BD couldn't hurt. To that end, we're opening helper mod applications! Duties will primarily cover writing the game's TDM each month and helping with event planning. No previous experience is needed (though it's obviously helpful), but a player's contributions to the game and community will be taken into consideration. There's no form to fill out, just PM the mod journal or hit me on Discord and shoot your shot!
That's all from us for this month! Hop down to the IC recap and then drop by the Event Preview to catch up to speed with what's going down in March!
At the beginning of the month, an official communication from the DU goes out to all registered Dreamers.
- As we enter the third month of the year, the Dreamer Union extends heartfelt greetings to each and every registered Dreamer. As we transitioned into the new year, we encountered heightened activity within the Dream Sphere, particularly during the traditional Hatsuyume period. Your adept handling of these increased challenges ensured a smooth passage through this potentially turbulent time.
Unexpectedly, the Dream Sphere witnessed unusual Nightmare activity during the Valentine's season. We appreciate the swift response and exceptional performance displayed by all of our combatants but in particular, we would like to highlight the efforts of Dreamers Chaosbringer, Hanako, and Tycoon in battling the Nightmare that surfaced during this time. Your courage and proficiency in addressing these unforeseen challenges contribute significantly to our ongoing efforts to understand the intricate dynamics between Nightmares and the Waking World.
As we look ahead with optimism, we remain grateful for your commitment to the Dreamer Union. Together, let us continue to forge a path towards understanding and harmony within the Dream Sphere.
Warm regards,
Chloe Yoshino
Director of the Dreamer Union
EVENT INFO & TIMELINE
- We've had a nice long break since our last major upset but you should all know by now that things in the Dream Sphere never stay quiet for too long. Once again, it's time to dive back into the Dream Sphere and rescue one of their own from a Disturbanc!
As a recap for those just joining us since our last event: Disturbances are surreal dreamscapes draw directly on the struggles, fears and emotions of a single character, similar to the TV world dungeons in Persona 4 or the Heartscapes in Blue Reflection Second Light. These large-scale dungeons will tie into the overarching plot of the game as we progress and must be tackled in order to prevent a negative outcome on both the Dream Sphere and Yumemigaoka itself. Scary stuff!
In addition, Disturbances are unique among other Outlying Locations in that they vanish once resolved and incubate extremely powerful enemies at their core who must be defeated to save the person at its heart. This where BD's turn based mechanics come in! Disturbance boss battles are where our Boss Tier Combat system finally enters the picture and will require signups beforehand to help keep things organized. In this Disturbance, participants are capped at four Dreamers with at least one Experienced Dreamer with a Signature Move. We will also be prioritizing folks who were not picked or otherwise did not participate in the first dungeon's boss combat. Slots are otherwise open to as many Novices who would like to give things a try!
Sign up with the form below – just fill it out and reply to the signups toplevel. If our signups exceed our number of slots, characters will be selected via RNG. Please be aware that if you are selected, you will be expected to be active and present during the event to ensure things can conclude!
Signups will close on March 10th.

WORLD UPDATES
- March is the first month of spring in Yumemigaoka which means the weather is finally taking a turn from completely grim and gray to only mostly grim and only kind of gray! Coming off the back of February, the first week of March has a lot of heavy rain that gradually gives way to some light, sunny showers that make things feel just a bit more lively. This is helped along by the early appearance of a few cherry blossom trees that have already begun to bloom after which cherry blossom season will start in earnest from mid March to around the beginning of April. Temperatures will gradually pick up as the month goes on until things eventually stop feeling quite so wintery and by the time March comes to an end, spring has undeniably sprung!
