MONTHLY POST

HELLO AND WELCOME TO BEAUTIFUL DREAMER! I am so beyond excited for the game to finally have launched and for everyone to join me in Yumemigaoka at last! Now that the game is getting rolling and everybody is ready to go, it's time for BD's first monthly post!

In BD, monthly posts are a neat and tidy combo of event previews & CR planning, world changes and updates and AC results. Typically, this first section of the post will the IC newsletter distributed by the Dreamer Union. It goes out at the top of each month and recaps the previous month's events. This will be used as a method of keeping everyone up to speed with the plot but you can also submit things to be included if you'd like to spread word of something neat or funny your character did this month – it's basically a gossip rag for Dreamers, so have fun with it!

Since there's, uh, no previous month to recap this time, for this first month it'll be a rundown of how monthly posts will work.




Event previews and CR planning are self explanatory – they'll give you the date you can expect the mod run event posts to go up and give you a quick primer on what you can expect to see. With that in mind, you can do your CR planning for the month in the comments or even put out calls for event partners if you think it's necessary.




World changes and updates will generally be the main dish of the monthly posts. These are the small-scale but still notable events that happen in the world of BD that players can use to make plans for the upcoming month - this or that shop is having a sale, this is that neighbourhood experiences a thunderstorm, something odd has happened in this particular Outlying Location, etc etc. The month's weather forecast will also be posted in this section, as well as any important changes or event in the Dream Sphere that don't quite constitute a whole mod-run event on their own. You can comment below for any questions you might have or anything you'd like your character to do in relation to these events that might have some impact on them.

EVENT PREVIEW

May will be a big month for the Dreamers of Yumemigaoka! May 14th is the anniversary of the first time a Dreamer connected to the Dream Sphere so it's a big day on any year. This year's festivities are particularly exciting – it's the fiftieth anniversary of that event and the DU are pulling out all the stops to celebrate! Some of this involves PR campaigns, media appearances and lots of other things to drum up excitement which will be going on around the city in the lead up to the main event – the anniversary celebration on the 14th!

The anniversary celebration will be a two-part event held at the Dreamer Unions in the Waking World and the Dream Sphere simultaneously! Over in reality, the event will be a sort of small-scale convention held at the DU's building with food stalls, cute merch and informational stands. A few particularly well-known Dreamers will be making appearances to do Q&As as will a few higher ups in the DU. What's your plans for the day? Hanging around for snacks and good vibes? Or maybe you're one of the Dreamer's who's volunteered to answer some questions?

Over in the Dream Sphere, things are a little more casual... but a little more exciting! Rather than a public event, this is more in the vein of a work party with Dreamers encouraged to mingle and break the ice with each other. Some sort of bizarre buffet has been laid out made up entirely of dream-logic food that you'd never be able to find in the real world and the whole thing is capped off with a promised "big surprise" that everyone is very nudge-wink-hush about...

WORLD UPDATES

May is a pretty good time to be in Yumemigaoka! The first week of the month is Golden Week after all, which means schools are closed and most folks will have time off from work to fully enjoy the holidays. This means Yumemigaoka is going to be a bit more touristy and busy than usual but given that you knew this was coming up, surely you booked everything in advance. ... y–you booked everything in advance, right?!

Weather wise, May starts off overcast and rainy with a strong breeze blowing through though things aren't too chilly. There will be a thunder and lightning storm on May 6th, primarily affecting Kihada, that will finally clear the air and wash away some of the clouds. From May 13th onwards the weather will generally be sunny and warm, but you can expect it to be windy for the entire month.

WORLD EVENTS

⧖ April 29th - May 5th: It's Golden Week! Students are free from school, as are most people who work in private sectors though, tragically, the heroes working retail and customer service will still be expected to work. Many shops will be having big, attention grabbing sales to take advantage of the holiday; in particular, Tsubaki Department Store and Matsuba World Market are absolutely slashing their prices. Get while the getting's good!

⧖ May 6th: An all-day thunder and lightning storm will hit Kihada, temporarily causing a small blackout that will last for a few hours at around midday.

⧖ May 9th - May 10th: Mid-term exams take place across these days. Normal classes are suspended and students instead complete the midterm exams for all their subjects.

⧖ May 14th: The 50th anniversary event! The event mingle post will go up.

⧖ May 19th: Midterm exam results are posted for students to see. How'd you do?

⧖ May 25th: The single "SWEETY DREAMY" by popular idol Miomio drops with an accompanying round of release parties at music stores around the city. Get that exclusive merch while you can!
