Monthly Post & CR Meme #14: it's pride month and you know what that means

Happy Pride, Dreamers! Sorry for the delay on this month's post going up but... as some of you may have seen, we had some technical mishaps!! The program I've been using to automate AC seems to have gone boom and I had to delay to see if I could sort something out.

I'm still in the process of working out how to adjust so I'm giving everyone a retroactive free pass on last month's AC rather than scrambling to process it manually. As for this month, I will probably call for everyone to submit threads during app week and... well, I'll figure something out!!

There are no other OOC updates other than to remind everyone that the second half of the anniversary event is still ongoing and while I would say we're moving into the latter half of it, there's still room for you to take part if you'd like!

EVENT INFO RECAP

It's celebration time for the DU! While not quite as big an event as their milestone event last year, the anniversary is pretty much always a fun time for Dreamers. A private gathering will happen in the Dream Sphere in the vein of a work party. The higher ups will give speeches and a big buffet of delightfully weird dream-logic food will be laid out for everyone to enjoy and on the whole, it's a pretty enjoyable celebration.

At least to begin with.

Partway through the second part of the gathering, an odd shape will pass over the moon that perpetually hangs in the sky above the Dream Sphere - almost like a eye briefly flickering open and then closing again. While nothing will immediately seem to happen, following this event, none of the Dreamers in the Slumbering City will be able to wake and return to the real world. Thanks to the different rate at which time passes between the two worlds, the number of missing Dreamers will go unnoticed until the following morning in reality, equaling roughly one day's worth of time in the Dream Sphere.

To make matters worse, the Slumbering City won't be entirely safe as time progresses and Dreamers will find themselves fighting to defend not just themselves but the city itself as well...

Investigations have turned up some strange occurrences around the Dream Sphere and now the Slumbering City itself seems to be under invasion from this outside force...?!

In order to prevent the event from running too long and interfering with player plans, now investigations have progressed the event to its third act, so to speak, it will have a cutoff date of June 16th, which will serve as a deadline for players to resolve just what could be happening in the Dream Sphere.

WORLD UPDATES

Despite the circumstances, June comes blooming into Yumemigaoka bringing the first major summer heatwave with it! While the first two weeks of the month will be overcast and rainy, they're still pretty hot which unfortunately means the first half of June is going to be majorly humid. Gross! After a major rainstorm on the 17th, things will finally start to dry off a bit... but only because they're getting even hotter! Expect temperatures to hit some pretty typical Yumemigaoka highs - locals will probably be prepared but new arrivals to the city might be a little unprepared...! The heat will stick around until the 28th, when the second rainstorm of the month will hit the city and things will cool down to something a little more reasonable... for now, anyway.

Over in the Dream Sphere, the sinister weather that asserted itself in May still has a hold over the sky. Huge black clouds writhe and twist overhead, obscuring the sky and constantly dumping rain over the Reverie Necropolis, Twinkle Keep and Fury Peak, respectively. Fortunately, the conditions don't seem to have any adverse effects on Dreamers in the area apart from the air pressure being pretty nasty, but watch out for increased Torment activity!

WORLD EVENTS

⧖ First Half of June: The anniversary event is ongoing.

⧖ June 3rd: Midterm exam results... have been postponed...!!! Considering The Circumstances, midterms themselves have been put on the backburner to be revisited by schools around the city at a later date.

⧖ June 4th - June 28th: A heatwave hits the city, turning the June days sweltering and unseasonably uncomfortable. Air conditioning use in stores and retail buildings goes up exponentially to compensate.

⧖ June 7th: A small, local designer of cute and fashionable children's clothing named Hori Chitose is having a pop-up store at Moon Bunny Market. The sale is happening on a first-come first-served basis with the promise that their unique, limited stock is going to sell out very quickly!

⧖ June 8th - 9th: It's Yumemigaoka Rainbow Pride Weekend! The city's Pride celebration starts with a festival held at Yotsuba Park, featuring live music and all manner of food and vendor stalls on Saturday and concludes with the Parade that marches through Koubai with groups from all over the city taking part in solidarity and support! The DU will have a reduced presence at both halves of the event what with everything going on, but everyone is still encouraged to take part if they can.

⧖ June 17th: A sudden thunder and lightning storm will hit the city, causing temporary power outages that last a few hours - in particular, Kihada and Asagi will be most affected while Koubai and Matsuba will be more on the spotty side of things.

⧖ June 15th: Kimi ga Shinobu to Sekaide Daremo ga Shiranai or ShinoShira or I'm The Only One In The World Who Knows You're A Ninja!, the first season of an adaptation of a hit YA light novel will be airing in the late night anime slot. With a title like that, who could possibly resist checking it out?!?!?!

⧖ June 23rd: Tsubaki Department Store is holding an early summer sale, marking down everything from clothes to kitchen goods to snacks! They've even gotten in special exclusive products only available through the sale - come and grab something for your beach vacation or that trip into the countryside you've been dreaming of!

⧖ June 28th: An all-day thunder and lightning storm will hit Kihada, temporarily causing a small blackout that will last for a few hours around noon.
