Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's test drive meme! If you're unfamiliar with the game, then you can check out the navigation to get yourself up to speed on all the relevant info pages then check out the most recent AU Planning meme to see what juicy ideas your fellow players are cooking up!

As the prompts in the TDM are based on events from the prior in-game month, the overall TDM is not canon to Beautiful Dreamer though players are free to treat individual CR/threads on this post as canon to their characters if both players are happy to do so.

Dreamers on the TDM will have access to all of their starter powers as outlined on the powers page as well as two unique abilities to play around with as you please.

Some prompts and location details have been provided below for you to play around with but please feel free to go hog wild and have fun!

YUMEMIGAOKA

New year, new weather! Just kidding, it's the same weather as usual. Temperatures are still bitterly cold, and the snow is piling up, with a fresh dump of the stuff on the 2nd that causes some commotion with traffic and public transport. January 13th will bring a bit of a thaw, melting off the last of the snow that had accumulated - but a blustery, bitterly cold wind blows through the city all the same, so things are kind of just as miserable during January as they were during December. Things warm up just enough that snow turns to pattering rain by the end of the month but that's really it's own kind of dismal...


⧖ Happy New Year, Yumemigaoka! With year end celebrations on everyone's mind, many stores in Yumemigaoka are stocking New Year postcards with a bunch of pretty designs. Some stores are even stocking exclusives or having promotional postcard lots where you get a selection of different cards. Did you make sure to grab enough for all your friends and relatives? Are you running around in a panic to make sure they all get sent before New Year 2026?! Godspeed, brave soldier.

⧖ Since January's come around it's time for January sales! Pretty much every store that has something to sell in Yumemigaoka will have some sort of promotional deal or clearance sale on. Shoppers beware, the deals might be amazing but with this many sales going on at once the stores are probably all gonna be jam packed so be prepared to get up bright and early on your sale days or else risk a total wipeout!

⧖ Unfortunately for the kids of Yumemigaoka, winter vacation has ended and school's back on. Even more unfortunately for everyone else, the day everyone's traveling back to school just so happens to coincide with a delay in the train lines meaning the main Yumemigaoka train station is absolutely bursting with students, workers and everyone else in between who just wanted to get a damn train this morning. Help! Anybody wanna split a taxi?







THE DREAM SPHERE







Over in the Dream Sphere, everyone's thoughts of the dismal weather seem to have stretched out the snowfall for a couple extra weeks compared to the Waking World. The Vale of Sorrow, Whispering Grotto and Facet Lagoon are all still frozen over and shockingly, Fury Peak has succumbed to the chill as well - not only are the rocks frozen over but the volcano seems to have gone quiet, too! Wonder what's down there...

As usual, the emotions stirring over in the Waking World have begun funneling into the Dream Sphere and causing all manner of problems here and there. Torments and Nightmares won't hunt themselves so be sure to properly scout out all the available locations of the Dream Sphere you can access just in case - maybe you'll find a new teammate to work with while you're out there!

In particular, it looks like trouble can be found...


⧖ Watch out! Bunnies about! With the new year comes a whole new host of Torments to wrangle over in the Dream Sphere! In particular, some deceptively sweet looking bunnies have invaded the Stardust Sanctuary and set to... pounding mochi, it seems? This would all be very cute and welcome if it wasn't for the fact that as soon as an unsuspecting Dreamer comes in a little too close, all bunny Torments in the vicinity will suddenly turn hostile and make it clear they're intent on making mochi out of you, too!

⧖ Over in the Reverie Necropolis, easily the most nightmarish and eerie part of the Dream Sphere, something equally nightmarish has taken root. The most wretched and vile of all horrors to ever grace the Dream Sphere... taxes. ... or, well, Torments born from financial worries, anyway. These little turds take the form of grabby hands with eyeballs in their palms and take great glee in ruining any Dreamer's day. Get a group ready and take care of these buggers ASAP!

⧖ Over in Facet Lagoon, the winter weather seems to have had a strange effect on this sparkly tropical paradise; instead of water, this beachy locale is now filled to the brim with crystal clear, pure as can be ice! You can even see straight to the bottom of the lagoon itself, revealing all kinds of aquatic Torments swimming around under the ice. You'll have to crack it open to have any chance of a successful Torment Hunt here but be wary - break too much of the ice and you're liable to fall right in to the chilly water. Yikes! To make matters even worse, the chilly Torments stuck under the ice seem to be coming together to form a giant sea serpent Nightmare! If you act fast, you might be able to take this Nightmare down before it awakens and starts rampaging, but maybe not all by yourself...
