Monthly Post & CR Meme #2: 🌈✨

MONTHLY POST

Happy June, Dreamers and an even happier one month anniversary of the game's launch! With our first month and second app round behind us, it really feels like BD is picking up steam! Before moving onto the IC newsletter, here's a few ooc game updates for everyone:

⧖ We will no longer be having a separate OOC Intro/CR Planning post at the start of the month and CR planning with now be combined with the monthly post. Just works out a little neater that way! New characters will have a dedicated header in the comments for their CR planning comments so if you've just joined us in the last app round be sure to introduce yourself here!

⧖ The NPCs & Notable Figures page went up in the first half of last month! Make sure to give it an eyeball now and then to keep up with who's who in the world of Beautiful Dreamer - or even submit some famous folks yourself!

⧖ The Additional Setting Lore and World Update Submission pages will be going up in June, so keep an eye out for them! Both of these allow you to add extra fun and flavour to the world of BD - Additional Setting Lore allows players to collate information on culture and media in the world of BD and serves as a useful reference. World Update Submissions will allow players to suggest and submit World Events to take place across Yumemigaoka that will be featured in the next monthly post. Want to suggest a school field trip? Think it would be super cool if it snowed on this particular day? Go ahead and submit it to the page and make it happen!

That's all for OOC updates! Before moving on, we'd just like to give a huge shout-out to everyone in the game and everyone who's been considering apping; the incredible reception we've gotten has been super heartening to see and we hope we can continue to make Beautiful Dreamer the best it can be!

On the first of the month, a post goes up on the DU's official website.

Heyoooo Big Dreamers and little dreamers alike! (⌒▽⌒)☆ It’s ya gal pal with all the news, Dreamer Chat, here with this months DREAMER CHAT!

May sure FLEW BY, didn’t it? What was with all the crummy weather? It totally messed with my plans for Golden Week! Hope everyone still found a nice way to celebrate! Even Dreamers want to just chill and take a break– but it wouldve been nice if some of them didn’t take that chill break in the middle of the anniversary celebrations…

With the Dreamer Union celebrating the first Dreamers showing up FIFTY this year (super retro!!!) expectations were high for the big Anniversary Celebration. Hope you stocked up on all the limited merch that the Union had available, if not, it’s surely available secondhand online– just don’t expect it to come cheap! I got my hands on some goodies celebrating RAY, but you’re crazy if you think I’m parting ways with it. The Q&A’s were a MUST SEE– I don’t know what they expected to happen with the Survival Techniques show, those two guys had me ROFLMAO.

Big Dreamers got a taste of BIG flavors with the snacks… my stomachs rumbling thinking of them now… we gotta talk about Dreamer Decadence and the meat though. Aren’t Dreamers supposed to like cute sweet things? I’m not saying I didn’t sneak a bite. He lives up to the name. (✧ᴗ✧✿) Speaking of the Dreaming side of things… did anyone else spot the new cutie shouting about how she was finally there? We LOVE to see it! (◕ ワ ◕✿) Congrats on the glow up, new BD!!!

OMG OMG OMG and I have the BEST news to tell you all. Rumor has it (and by rumor, I mean it’s pretty much fact) that what Ann-G was acting all smug about is the success of their new Dream-Exclusive invention that can PERMANENTLY grant access to certain areas of the Dream Sphere!!! I was so excited I couldn’t help but break the news to all my fans, sorry Ann-G!!!

Dreamer Chaosbringer was really bringing the chaos this month– it seemed like every time I turned around they were barreling through on a Torment Hunt or leading a pack of fearless Dreamers around. The Dreamers really came through– no one was mauled or went missing (that I know of, and trust me, when something’s going on, I know about it) but you have to wonder… with so much Dreamer activity, how long’s that gonna last?

LOL Sorry to get all dark on you guys there!!! There’s still loads to look forward to– it’s PRIDE MONTH and we’re ready to PARTY!!! Yours truly will be celebrating, and I’ve heard word that the Dreamers Union doesn’t intend to sit out either. See you there, Ann-G! (˶◡‿◡)

EVENT PREVIEW

After the anniversary event the previous month, things have calmed down a little over at the DU and it doesn't look like there's any major announcements on the horizon. That is until they finally send out a bulletin confirming exactly what those funky little devices everyone got at the Dream Sphere anniversary are. As it turns out, those are Stabilizers, the DU's first successful attempt at creating a magical tool exclusive to the Dream Sphere. By using a Stabilizer on a location they've stumbled across in the Dream Sphere, a Dreamer can permanently fix it in place and give themselves a connection to it, making it easier for them and other Dreamers to return to and continue exploring it in the future!

Currently, more work is being done to teach Dreamers the method to create them without help but for now, additional Stabilizers can be picked up at the DU's building in the Slumbering City – there's no way of creating these tools in the Waking World just yet.

And why would you be needing any extra Stabilizers? Well, the DU has an event planned that just might be to everyone's taste...

WORLD UPDATES

After the general chaos that was May, June is relatively calm in comparison with the fuss and excitement of Golden Week and the stress of midterms and the 50th anniversary gradually simmering back down into something approaching normalcy. With summer approaching, things are still a little touristy though thankfully, things are nowhere near as hectic or crowded. There are no major events to be worrying about this month – the longest day of the year will be falling on June 21st and excitingly, the city's Pride celebration will also be happening in June! 🌈✨

Continuing the trend from last month, June's weather starts off pretty dismal early on with heavy rain during the first three days gradually giving over to scattered showers and damp but sunny weather on June 7th. From there, the weather will be mostly bright and sunny with summery temperatures and strong winds, though a few scattered showers and dismal overcast days will continue through for the entire rest of the month. Thankfully for those attending Rainbow Pride, there will be some light and passing rain on the 10th though not enough to dampen everyone's spirits and the 11th will be sunny, bright and breezy just in time for the Parade.

    !
    WORLD EVENTS

⧖ June 3rd - June 4th: Matsuba World Market is extending their Golden Week sale to clear out the last of their spring merchandise. Clothes, kitchenware, seasonal foods - it's all there, baby! If Golden Week hasn't already wiped our your wallet, why not drop by and check it out?

⧖ June 8th: The main train station serving Asagi is undergoing renovations to repair damage caused by last month's stormy, rainy weather. Trains won't be stopping anywhere near the station until the 15th, so anyone used to using that station will need to find alternate transport until then.

⧖ June 10th - June 11th: It's Yumemigaoka Rainbow Pride Weekend! The city's Pride celebration starts with a festival held at Yotsuba Park, featuring live music and all manner of food and vendor stalls on Saturday and concludes with the Parade that marches through Koubai with groups from all over the city taking part in solidarity and support! The DU will have a presence at both halves of the event and signups for their section of the Parade will be open up until the 9th.

⧖ June 14th: The event mingle post will go up.

⧖ June 18th: Torment Hunt bounty! A large and aggressive Torment horde spawned from feelings of fear and inadequacy have been terrorizing the already frankly terrifying Reverie Necropolis! They take the form of vaguely humanoid shadows with exaggerated theatre masks around where their faces should be. This is a High Risk bounty open to all Dreamers and multiple groups of characters can tackle this challenge. As a reward, characters who successfully clear this bounty will receive double points on rewards associated with this Torment Hunt!

⧖ June 25th: As part of a promotional collab, Riverwalk Theater will be screening a late night double feature for the classic Teki-Terra kaiju franchise. Tickets for the 70s cult classics, Teki-Terra Final and Teki-Terra Final Forever will be available, as will a handful of exclusive merch.

AC RESULTS

The following characters have received a strike as a result of the previous month's activity check:

      bloodpetal
      considergun
      spielhaus

Strikes will automatically clear after one month of passing AC, so don't sweat too much!
