Lisa is absolutely the sort that Stygian Witch would be trying to "help" - she's visibly flailing all over everything, even with an increasing amount of over-the-table support and training. She'll get there, but it may take a bit longer yet, and once she understands why she'd probably appreciate impromptu combat training; in the moment she'd complain loudly and attempt a Friendship Speech at least once, but still put effort in.
