He doesn't know what that smile was about, but it probably wasn't about him. Meanwhile, he does need to make sure this taxi is driving the way it's supposed to... one can never be too careful about strange vehicles, if he's learned anything from spy movies. Trains and buses are much harder to intercept than smaller vehicles, but the trains were out and the buses were off-schedule. He wonders idly if perhaps this could have been planned for, a deliberate attempt to get him to take a taxi??
