Hello Dreamers! As It Turns Out, I Lied About The Monthly Post Going Up Late. As mentioned on Discord, both your lovely mods had IRL commitments around the time we usually finish putting the post together and thus needed an extra day to become soup before reconstituting and getting things together – but we managed to catch up! However, this does unfortunately mean that we will not be having an IC recap for this month but if time permits us to put one together, I will give everyone the forbidden honk to let them know.

There are no major OOC updates this time around but we do have a few things to shoot out!:


⧖ We have a handful of open/unplanned slots in our event roadmap over the next few months! Because of this, we'd like to encourage players to consider running their own player plots if they have anything currently cooking in their noggins. For full transparency's sake, we have open slots in October as well as January and February of next year, though we are obviously open to move our own plans around to better accommodate the playerbase. In short, if you have a cool idea, just let us know and we'll be happy to work with you!

⧖ In around two months, we will be coming up to the half year anniversary of the game's opening!! What the fuck!!! As usual, a huge shout out to all of the BD playerbase who make the game such a delight to run. To make sure we continue making BD a fun place to play, we'll be hosting a How's The Game session at the six month mark to get feedback on players as to how BD has been running and to potentially make adjustments to anything that needs to be fixed up. Obviously if there's anything major bugging you there's no need to stew on it until then, but the HTG post will be a place for everyone to chitchat about how to make BD the best it can be for everyone!







EVENT PREVIEW





Research at the DU continues to proceed, with both the Stabilizers and the apparent reappearance of the once-missing Dreamer Crimson providing new perspectives on the Dream Sphere and its magic. During this process, the DU detects an unusual distortion in the Dream Sphere that they can't quite identify, though it seems similar spikes have happened once or twice in the past. Though it doesn't seem to be having any current negative impacts on anything, they nevertheless request Dreamers keep an eye out for anything strange.

Partway into the month, however, one Stabilized location on the Outlying Locations page will become disconnected from the Dream Sphere and become inaccessible. Further research will identify the distortion as the cause and that all other Stabilized locations are at similar risk of being lost. Dreamers will be kitted out with free Stabilizers and asked to re-enter old locations to use new, additional Stabilizers to fix them in place. However, whatever distortion taking place has caused them to shift and warp in unusual ways and these once familiar locations may seem very unfamiliar indeed...

WORLD UPDATES





Yumemigaoka's miserable summer weather peaks with a week-long typhoon at the start of August that, while not overtly dangerous, nevetheless shuts down public transport and causes minor flooding around the city. Once the typhoon passes, the worst of the summer storms are over with and while the rest of the month is still pretty overcast and windy it is mostly dry with occasional showers, much better than the prior summer weather and a week of strong, clear sunshine during the last week in August.

For students, the majority of their summer vacation will take place in August, with school starting up again on September 4th.

WORLD EVENTS

⧖ All Month: The DU continues to ask that Experienced Dreamers take additional Excursions out into the Dream Sphere and investigate the reappearance of Dreamer Crimson.

⧖ August 1st-9th: Typhoon alert! After a whole month of soggy buildup, a typhoon absolutely blasts the city causing major flooding in certain areas and knocking out the power in a handful of neighbourhoods for a full day. This also causes a number of schools to cancel their planned summer recreational events.

⧖ August 6th: The anime adaptation of the popular horror manga series Yonezawa's Last Paycheck is set to premiere in the late night anime slot. A promotional merch lotto will be running at Tomoe-24 locations around the city.

⧖ August 12th: The Dreamer Union will be sponsoring a job fair hosted at the Asagi Public Library, aimed at Dreamers who are looking to supplement their income with part-time work or getting retired Dreamers back into the workforce. Various companies and organizations within Yumemigaoka will be participating with a focus on flexi-time and WFH schedules to accommodate the occasionally messy schedule of an active Dreamer.

⧖ August 14th: The event mingle post will go up.

⧖ August 16th: Characters who have connections to the entertainment industry will hear rumors that an upcoming event by the idol group Pure Candy has been cancelled for unknown reasons.

⧖ August 21st: The news breaks that Mio Kasuga, the idol performing as "Miomio", has officially been declared missing.
