Character Name: Obi Canon: Snow White with the Red Hair
About: Who is this shady rando.
The young man calling himself "Obi" tends to pop up unexpectedly, both in the waking world and the Dream Sphere. He's like a friendly stray cat: cute, in a rough and roguish kind of way, but who knows where he's been? When he turns up, Obi reliably makes himself helpful, bringing his unique skills, perspective, and sense of humor to bear on tough situations, but something about him just feels so sketchy.
It's the obvious criminal aura. My god, look at him. He has the scars and pointy eyes and tendency to crouch on narrow ledges and everything, how can he broadcast "illegal anime activities!" more loudly? (Actually--at least these days--Obi mostly works in private security.) He can be found in the wild at restaurants and bars (and sometimes in trees), and occasionally enters martial arts contests, when he has the time.
Dreamer-wise, Obi awakened in the usual way a short while ago, but chose not to go immediately to the DU. Instead, he's been testing his powers and trying out small explorations of the Dream Sphere on his own, because heaven forbid anyone should see him anything less than comfortable with his own capabilities. I figure by the time I app, he'll be confident enough in understanding himself to meet other Dreamers in a more official capacity and will apply to the DU then as a Novice Dreamer.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Short-term plans: Obi's gonna join the DU! He's here to crack jokes and Torments' heads. I still have no idea what his powers will be, but he's well-used to combat in the real world, so even if he's a novice, he'll be happy to take more of a frontline role in a party. Long-term plans: I dunno, Obi runs on vibes and so do I. His arc in SWwtRH is all about learning what it means to stay in one place and be valued by others, so I imagine his development here might take a similar trajectory. Possibly also a role shift over time reflected in his appearance as a Dreamer changing from a more ninja-like look to a knightly one?
Desired CR/AU Castmates: - I'd totally love for Obi to have history, shady or not, with a couple people. He's been a fighter-for-hire all over the world, annnndddd not all of that would have been on the right side of local laws? But some of it would! So it's possible he was a coworker or even a former foe. - Drinking buddies, flirting buddies. Fighting buddies! Obi's eminently buddy-shaped. - Obi could absolutely be someone's bodyguard or even, like... guardian? Someone hired by their actual guardians to look after them, make sure they're fed, fight off kidnappers, whatever. I see all you rich kids. - There's a chance to meet him when he's doing his ill-advised solo explorations of the Dream Sphere!
Anything Else?: Is it legal for there to be both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Obi in the same game. Is that allowed. Anyway.
