Happy November, Dreamers! And if it's November then that means holy crap! HAPPY SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY, BEAUTIFUL DREAMER!!! I really cannot gush enough about what an absolute delight BD has been to run and how incredibly grateful I am to have a playerbase as fun, creative and all around wonderful to play with as BD's is. It absolutely makes all the work that goes into keeping BD running a joy to do and I'm hoping that this month's OOC updates and IC event reflect that!

As a reminder, this month is going to be our second Disturbance plot featuring one of our very own Dreamers! We kept this under wraps while working on the dungeon but I'm happy to announce that our November Disturbance plot features Ango Sakaguchi at the heart and needing some big help to return to the Waking World...

As with last Disturbance plot, there will be limited signup slots for the boss battle at the end so be sure to sign up quick if you're interested!

In celebration of our six month anniversary, we have a few updates!


⧖ The location pages for both Yumemigaoka and the Dream Sphere have had a bit of an update! Yumemigaoka has a number of new locations and businesses for you to poke arpund in and each Outlying Location in the Dream Sphere now has an associated area theme both to give you a Vibe to go off of and because I know everyone here loves a silly little playlist.

⧖ Everyone will get a free power upgrade to use as and when they like! Just be sure to put 'anniversary upgrade' in the cost section of the upgrade form.

⧖ The love meme is up! Drop in and love on your fellow Dreamers!

⧖ Final reminder! December will not have a mod-run event, both to cool us down from our second Disturbance and to give folks some breathing room around the holidays.

EVENT INFO & TIMELINE

October may have given them a bit of breathing room but when November comes around, the Dreamers of Yumemigaoka will find themselves once again called on to dive back into the Dream Sphere and rescue someone from a Disturbance – but this time, instead of searching for a victim none of them know, it's one of their very own who needs help!

As a recap for those just joining us since our last event: Disturbances are surreal dreamscapes draw directly on the struggles, fears and emotions of a single character, similar to the TV world dungeons in Persona 4 or the Heartscapes in Blue Reflection Second Light. These large-scale dungeons will tie into the overarching plot of the game as we progress and must be tackled in order to prevent a negative outcome on both the Dream Sphere and Yumemigaoka itself. Scary stuff!

In addition, Disturbances are unique among other Outlying Locations in that they vanish once resolved and incubate extremely powerful enemies at their core who must be defeated to save the person at its heart. This where BD's turn based mechanics come in! Disturbance boss battles are where our Boss Tier Combat system finally enters the picture and will require signups beforehand to help keep things organized. In this Disturbance, participants are capped at four Dreamers with at least one Experienced Dreamer with a Signature Move. We will also be prioritizing folks who were not picked or otherwise did not participate in the first dungeon's boss combat. Slots are otherwise open to as many Novices who would like to give things a try!

EVENT TIMELINE

⧖ November 1st: A small fire breaks out at an apartment block in Asagi - thankfully, nobody is injured. However, past this date, Ango Sakaguchi will stop showing up for work at the Dreamer Union.

⧖ November 2nd: A familiar series of earthquakes will shake Asagi Ward. In response, the DU immediately issues a press release asking all Dreamers to refrain from non-essential travel to the Dream Sphere while they investigate a potential distortion. Experienced Dreamers in good standing with the DU will receive private confirmation of Ango's disappearance and the suspected manifestation of another Disturbance.

⧖ November 7th: Another earthquake shakes Asagi Ward and is followed shortly after by the DU publicly confirming to all Dreamers that they have confirmed the presence of a second Disturbance manifestation and that Ango is suspected to be the cause. With no way of breeching it until it fully manifests, the DU warns that all Dreamers should be prepared to enter the Dream Sphere to dive in once it is fully stable.

⧖ November 13th: The Disturbance log will go up. ICly, this is the date at which Ango's Disturbance has fully manifested – or at least enough so that Dreamers can enter it to locate him.

⧖ November 30th: The OOC deadline for Ango's rescue from the Dream Sphere.

WORLD UPDATES

November in Yumemigaoka begins with a gradual shift from the mild autumn weather of October, with a noticeable chill in the air that has people reaching for warmer clothes. The skies start trending towards overcast more often than not and there's a few surprise rain showers during the first half of the month. As November rolls on, things get crisper and more wintery and the transition becomes especially clear around November 13th when a surprise early snowfall covers the city in a soft, white blanket. Towards the end of the month, temperatures will drop to the point of covering the city in frost even when the sun is high in the sky, promising a classically northern cold and snowy winter.

WORLD EVENTS

⧖ All Month: The DU issues a press release asking all Dreamers to refrain from non-essential travel to the Dream Sphere for their own safety.

⧖ November 1st-3rd: November 3rd is Culture Day! Schools around Yumemigaoka will be holding their cultural festivals across these days, which usually includes performances put on by school clubs, booths run by classes and, of course, lots of food stalls run by students. Cultural festivals are also open days, so family members and friends from other schools will be able to come and hang out during these days!

⧖ November 9th - 13th: Construction is set to take place at Yumemigaoka Cultural Museum to update and repair some aging pipes. The project will take around four days and is scheduled to conclude on the 13th. Some of the museum will be closed and other sections may experience noise as a result of the construction but for the most part, it's business as usual.

⧖ November 13th - November 30th: The November Event will take place during this timeframe.

⧖ November 13th: An early, light snow storm covers the city in the early afternoon, covering everything in a layer of snow a few centimetres thick. Some rail transport will be halted due to possible delays and slippery tracks.

⧖ November 15th - January 1st: The Yumemigaoka Christmas Illuminations go up all around the city, heralded by a lighting ceremony in the evening of the 15th. Trees, buildings and architecture all over the city will be decked out in colorful, twinkling lights until the year turns over.

⧖ November 20th: Kokuhaku Tea officially switches over to their seasonal winter menu featuring new tea blends and holiday treats.

November 20th - December 25th: As part of a collab with a nationwide chain of confectionery stores and restaurants, Dreamer Ai-Doll be releasing a Christmas single and starring in an advertising campaign for Christmas cakes and confectionary. Lovey-dovey themed ads starring Ai and featuring the song will be running on TV all during the Christmas season.

⧖ November 27th - December 1st: It's finals week! Students across the city will spend this week stressfully revising and prepping for the big exams, with high schoolers typically finishing their final exams a day or two early on the 30th.

⧖ November 30th: The outcome of the event will be ICly announced.
