Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's test drive meme! If you're unfamiliar with the game, then you can check out the navigation to get yourself up to speed on all the relevant info pages then check out the most recent AU Planning meme to see what juicy ideas your fellow players are cooking up!

As the prompts in the TDM are based on events from the prior in-game month, the overall TDM is not canon to Beautiful Dreamer though players are free to treat individual CR/threads on this post as canon to their characters if both players are happy to do so.

Dreamers on the TDM will have access to all of their starter powers as outlined on the powers page as well as two unique abilities to play around with as you please.

Some prompts and location details have been provided below for you to play around with but please feel free to go hog wild and have fun!

YUMEMIGAOKA

August comes around and the summer heat continues to scorch Yumemigaoka! While there was reprieve from the sunlight last month, the skies are now clear which means it's time to buckle up and brace for a whole month of heat, humidity and blazing sunshine. There's a spattering of showers during the first week or so, but after that things are dry, clear and hot, hot, hot! Thankfully, though, August is generally the hottest month of the year and usually where summer temperatures peak so if you manage to survive until the end of the month, September will be a bit less oppressive.


⧖ A local indoor waterpark has recently rebranded to the excessively exciting sounding Wakku Wakku Waterpark and with summer heat skyrocketing, they've decided to extend their operating hours to match the demand! It's chock full of gimmicky pools, slides and rides all designed to evoke the thrill and excitement of a tropical vacation without having to fly halfway around the world. It's absolutely the place to be if you want to beat the summer heat... and if you don't mind being drafted into the occasional volleyball or water gun fight between rambunctious park visitors.

⧖ Dreamery Creamery's Certain Death Brain Freeze Bowl Challenge is still ongoing... with yet another twist! For just 500 yen you and partner can chow down on a massive bowl of ice cream with the trimmings, but fail to finish it in 40 minutes or before you get a brain freeze and you're on the hook for the full cost - and whoever finishes last has to foot the bill! On top of all that nonsense, the challenge has gone a bit viral and Dreamery Creamery have added yet another layer of insanity to the challenge - anyone who manages to clear the challenge three times will get their name on a special wall of fame and free bowls of ice cream for the rest of the summer... but at that point, are you really going to be able to stomach any more of that stuff?!

⧖ Duck and cover! Summer storms have finally hit the city with a vengeance, blasting the whole place with some seriously ferocious downpours with very little warning! If you're out and about and you hear those familiar rumblings of thunder in the distance, you might want to find yourself a place to duck into until the storm passes... or maybe just make sure you've got an emergency umbrella to hand no matter how clear the sky looks.

⧖ Yumemigaoka Aquarium gift shop's beloved "Octa-kun" plushie mascot is still doing numbers online! In an attempt to piggyback on this newfound, unexpected fame, the aquarium are hosting a little stamp rally in which the guaranteed prize is an exclusive Octa-kun plush... and as you can imagine, things have gone a little crazy in there! Doesn't anyone just appreciate looking at fish anymore...?!







THE DREAM SPHERE







Over in the Dream Sphere, things are still pretty toasty but with how much every dream's climate varies, there are always places that are cooler than others - in particular, the Vale of Sorrow, Whispering Grotto and Reverie Necropolis are the places to be if you want to beat the heat. As for Torment activity, the increase of discomfort and baseline irritation in reality unfortunately means that Torments across the Dream Sphere are getting stronger and more aggressive in turn. Make sure to keep on your toes this month!

As usual, the emotions stirring over in the Waking World have begun funneling into the Dream Sphere and causing all manner of problems here and there. Torments and Nightmares won't hunt themselves so be sure to properly scout out all the available locations of the Dream Sphere you can access just in case - maybe you'll find a new teammate to work with while you're out there!

In particular, it looks like trouble can be found...


⧖ For some ungodly reason, Twinkle Keep seems to have been overrun with... living Halloween decorations?! A huge unreadable orange banner is stretched out across the front of the keep and when you dare venture inside, you'll ind the whole thing has been co-opted to function as some sort of bizarre store of Halloween decorations?! Have some respect from the atmosphere, at least...! Of course, the Torments in here are all sorts of nasty and aggressive so there's no time to do any window shopping, even if you wanted to!

⧖ If you drop by Fury Peak on your rounds today then congratulations! You're in hell! The choking, searing heat pouring out of the volcano is almost unbearable today and the Torments here seem to be feeling it too; they're all particularly agitated and aggressive, attacking anything that so much as breathes in their direction. As if this wasn't bad enough, the volcano is absolutely belching smoke that completely kills any kind of long range visibility... and means that you might just be a sitting duck for a particularly pissed off Torment!

⧖ Something definitely feels off in the Reverie Necropolis... or, more off than usual anyway. Though the Torments here are fairly normal in terms of aggression, the Necropolis is oddly silent and serene, lacking any of the usual horror movie ass background ambiance that usually characterizes the place. If you're inclined to explore and see if you can't find what's going on here, be careful - the Torments that lurk here are all of the "hide and scare" variety and don't hold back with the jumpscare tactics. To make matters worse, even if you do manage to stumble into whatever's causing the change in atmosphere... it's a nasty looking Nightmare that's busy feasting on the other Torments to power itself up! Better hope you're not caught alone with this thing or the next thing on the menu might be you!
