Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's test drive meme! If you're unfamiliar with the game, then you can check out the navigation to get yourself up to speed on all the relevant info pages then check out the most recent AU Planning meme to see what juicy ideas your fellow players are cooking up!

As the prompts in the TDM are based on events from the prior in-game month, the overall TDM is not canon to Beautiful Dreamer though players are free to treat individual CR/threads on this post as canon to their characters if both players are happy to do so.

Dreamers on the TDM will have access to all of their starter powers as outlined on the powers page as well as two unique abiliites to play around with as you please.

Some prompts and location details have been provided below for you to play around with but please feel free to go hog wild and have fun!

YUMEMIGAOKA

To the relief of literally everyone in Yumemigaoka, while October is still as wet and stormy as September was, the temperature has finally dropped, hovering at around 22c/71F for most of the month. The rain might not have let up which means things are still pretty damp but with the heat and humidity of summer on the outs, those autumn showers are all kinds of refreshing! Fall has officially started and while it's a little too early for northern Japan's famously vivid fall colours to show themselves, a few trees have started to turn and shed their leaves all the same.


⧖ It's the spookiest time of the year! All around Yumemigaoka, shops are decorating and stocking for Halloween. Halloween themed sales will run across a range of goods and some restaurants will even be getting in on the action! Do you feel like getting into the Halloween spirit(s)?

⧖ It's Sports Day on the second Monday of the month, which means students all up and down the city will be taking part in their school sports festivals! Not only are there all the usual track and field shenanigans, but family members and friends from outside the school are allowed to come observe and hang out during lunch and breaks. Sure, you have to do physical activity, but is that not a small price to pay for snackies with your pals?

⧖ Usubeni Community Gardens are holding a fundraiser to help pre-emptively stave off some of the damage the winter months do to their produce. As well as monetary donations, they're accepting any spare equipment anyone has to offer. But they're not just taking things for free - they're offering a wide range of tasty dishes from their beautiful organic produce! Fall is the best season for veggies, so go ham! Or, uh... go broccoli, or something.

⧖ It's Halloween!!! While not quite as infamous as Shibuya, Yumemigaoka hosts its own Halloween street party in Koubai where everyone is encouraged to dress up and have a ball! The party starts at around noon and continues well into to the next morning and while things do get a bit rowdy later at night, it's generally all in good fun.







THE DREAM SPHERE







Over in the Dream Sphere, it looks like everyone's dreams haven't quite gotten the message that it's not fall just yet and a steady stream of orange and red leaves start raining down all over, from no apparent source except just the general Vibes in the air, I guess??? It's a little annoying when they fall into your eyes or get stuck in your hair but the overall atmosphere is pretty nice compared to last month and the drop in temperature matching reality makes it a whole lot more bearable to do your duties as a Dreamer...!

As usual, the emotions stirring over in the Waking World have begun funnelling into the Dream Sphere and causing all manner of problems here and there. Torments and Nightmares won't hunt themselves so be sure to properly scout out all the available locations of the Dream Sphere you can access just in case - maybe you'll find a new teammate to work with while you're out there!

In particular, it looks like trouble can be found...


⧖ With it being the season of ghouls and ghosties, it should come as no surprise that the Reverie Necropolis is once again causing trouble! Rather than one big Nightmare, though, the spooky vibes of the Halloween season has resulted in the Necropolis absolutely overflowing with nasty, horror movie themed Torments who want nothing more than to frighten the absolute life out of anyone who comes across them. Thankfully, none of them are especially powerful individually but the sheer number of them means you'll be better off working with a team. Dreamer beware, you're in for a scare!

⧖ At the Stardust Sanctuary, the cosmos are acting up and the stars seem to be moving around a bit more than usual, almost like they're being pulled in some sort of gravitational force. Usually this would just make for a cool backdrop to your battles, but it also means that the islands themselves are drifting in this weird cosmic breeze, making the so-called Sanctuary that much more dangerous to navigate all of a sudden - and on top of that, you've still got Torments of all stripes to deal with!

⧖ Whispering Grotto isn't exactly whispering right now - instead, the pools are resonating with some deeply spooky ambient noise and the cave system itself is lit up in a strange, shifting blue light. Not only does this make navigating the Grotto a lot harder but it also attracts the attention of a host of Torments who just can't resist a good spook and are causing all manner of mischief. To make matters even worse, traveling deep enough into the Grotto will lead you right into a spooky-ass Nightmare using sound as a weapon and making the whole din even worse. Team up with someone and deal with that thing before it blows your ears out!

Marinette Dupain-Cheng | Miraculous Ladybug.... 1/2

[A: Sports! Sports! Sports!]
[Transfer student Marinette had the chance to strut her stuff and show the school just the awesome, skilled person she could be. Then, the school festival started, and we're doing this instead.

Watch in awe as the new kid does her damnedest to look like she's any good at sports. She manages pretty well with the track race, right up until her feet catch on each other, and she goes down like a bag of baguettes, possibly taking the running behind her in the process.

So, while the other people in her team are handling the current event, Marinette's sitting off to the side, staying hydrated and tending to a rather purple bruise on her shin.]

Ow! Dangit.

[B: Tonight all the monsters gonna dance]
[Marinette's first street party, and she is dressed to impress. Shame the same couldn't be said for her balancing prowess. This witch is anything but catty-- she's hosting a little snack stand set up for the partygoers. Topped with an assortment of creepily-delicious treats straight from her parents bakery. Want a whipped cream ghost cookie? Some spooooky macarons (in vampire and spider varieties)? If you can think it, she's baking it.]

Ehehe-heh-- heekk. Ach!

[That cackle didn't work out. Accidentally inhaled some leftover flower. Give her a second.]

Uh...! Hi. W-what can I get you?

Ah-!!

[whether it's a good thing or not, her Cackle-Gone-Wrong has startled at least one passerby. He's still wearing the cat ears he'd been loaned from his job at Camellia, the ears now slightly askew from him nearly jumping out of his skin]

U-Uhm... No, I was just looking.

[he lowers his hands from their defensive posture to ask;] Are... Are you okay?

[COUGH HACK uggh]

I... might have swallowed some cobweb. Hehe. N-no problem. Everything's vine- fine.

[She's trying so hard to save face here. If her witch hat happened to slide down to cover her face, that'd be fine, right?]

H-huh...

[he sounds a little worried anyway, but if she says it's fine... Maybe?]

Want me to get you something to drink? It's probably a lot of hard work manning a booth by yourself.

M-me? No, no. It's fine- Please, just... forget it happened?

[She scoops up spoopy cookie and holds it out to him.]

Please, try one?

[a confused blink when she asks him to forget that snafu happened.

Then a cookie is held out for him and he stares at it for a moment before awkwardly accepting it] Ah? Um, all right... Are you sure?

[what happens when an awkward tanuki encounters an awkward ladybug? How to salvage this...]

Thank you? [he laughs] They look too spooky and cute to eat!

[A: Shooting stars]
[Traversing the shifting islands isn't that much of an issue when you have a magical yo-yo that reaches much, much farther than you'd assume. Not to mention stronger than it seems. Those two qualities were a great boon for the newly magical superhero hitting the Dream Sphere.

But sometimes tools have a mind of their own. And this one is wasting no time in yanking the Miraculous Ladybug off one island and sending her sailing bodily over to another one.

Hope you're not in the way, because here she comes and she can NOT stop. Or, step to the side if seeing a newbie eat dirt is more your style.]

[B: Making some noise]
[You may have spotted Ladybug hauling herself out of the outskirts of the grotto, not out of fear but with some kind of driven determination. Or maybe the noise just drove her mad?

In any case, she returns later down the path, near where the noise is becoming just nearly unbearable. She, however, looks perfectly fine.

Her secret? She holds up some red earplugs, patterned with black spots. Gesturing once to her own ears, she offers them to you with a goofy grin.]

[ Mind is being driven mad.

Not entirely, but when she sees a colorful fellow Dreamer holding up earplugs she practically lunges for them without thinking. ]

[Points helpfully to hear own ears again!! Truthfully, the earlugs work like a dream. Or, at least well enough that the roar of cacophony has been reduced to a dull cry.]

[Her voice is not carrying over all this noise.]

Mind squints, when she can see her mouth moving, but can't hear a damn thing. ]
