Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's test drive meme! If you're unfamiliar with the game, then you can check out the navigation to get yourself up to speed on all the relevant info pages then check out the most recent AU Planning meme to see what juicy ideas your fellow players are cooking up!

As the prompts in the TDM are based on events from the prior in-game month, the overall TDM is not canon to Beautiful Dreamer though players are free to treat individual CR/threads on this post as canon to their characters if both players are happy to do so.

Dreamers on the TDM will have access to all of their starter powers as outlined on the powers page as well as two unique abilities to play around with as you please.

Some prompts and location details have been provided below for you to play around with but please feel free to go hog wild and have fun!

YUMEMIGAOKA

March is the first month of spring in Yumemigaoka which means the weather is finally taking a turn from completely grim and gray to only mostly grim and only kind of gray! Coming off the back of February, the first week of March has a lot of heavy rain that gradually gives way to some light, sunny showers that make things feel just a bit more lively. This is helped along by the early appearance of a few cherry blossom trees that have already begun to bloom after which cherry blossom season will start in earnest from mid March to around the beginning of April. Temperatures will gradually pick up as the month goes on until things eventually stop feeling quite so wintery and by the time March comes to an end, spring has undeniably sprung!


⧖ With spring sweeping in and painting the town pink, it's officially cherry blossom season in Yumemigaoka! A number of stores around the city have seasonal goods and snacks that are only around once a year and Hina Flower Gardens are holding a free event with their own exclusive seasonal goodies and some absolutely beautiful scenery to take in. There's a few dry days across the month, so why not pack a picnic and go chill under the cherry blossoms?

⧖ March 13th is White Day - the day recipients of Valentines Day chocolate and gifts are expected to repay that kindness! Various stores will have sales to capitalize on the supposedly lovey dovey atmosphere, with Tomoe-24 in particular slashing their prices on chocolates, baked goods and novelty merch. Just make sure you actually remember to give the right gifts to the right people... is this what people mean when they talk about the burden of popularity?!

⧖ Matsuba World Market are hosting a market-wide stamp rally all around the neighborhood, handing out stamps to customers to encourage them to visit as many shops as possible for the chance to win a grand prize - a whopping ¥10,000 gift voucher that you can spend around Matsuba Market! Of course, you have to spend money in the first place to get your stamps so it's possible this is a bit of a false economy at play...

⧖ It's graduation season! All up and down Yumemigaoka, schools are bidding farewell to students who are either moving onto the next stage of their education or off into adult life for the very first time! Ceremonies and celebrations are being held up and down Yumemigaoka which means the city's going to be all sorts of busy while these are going on.







THE DREAM SPHERE







Over in the Dream Sphere, spring has sprung right into the stratosphere, with iridescent flowers and colorful trees growing on just about every surface you can see and the sky above turning a particularly pretty shade of pale pink to match. The usual downpour in the Vale of Sorrow has eased off into a spring shower and Stardust Sanctuary is positively glistening.

As usual, the emotions stirring over in the Waking World have begun funneling into the Dream Sphere and causing all manner of problems here and there. Torments and Nightmares won't hunt themselves so be sure to properly scout out all the available locations of the Dream Sphere you can access just in case - maybe you'll find a new teammate to work with while you're out there!

In particular, it looks like trouble can be found...


⧖ No matter where you go in the Dream Sphere, it almost looks like it's... snowing?! Isn't it a little warm for that? ... on closer inspection, this snow is actually cherry blossom petals raining endlessly down from the sky. How pretty! Of course, for those of you with allergies, maybe it's just rubbing salt on the wound. Your nose isn't itching, is it? Achoo!

⧖ In keeping with the spring atmosphere, this season's Torments are unusually... cute. Little cartoony rabbit looking guys, almost fit to be a magical girl's mascot, that are smaller and fluffier than your typical Torment. Almost approachable, even. Of course, they are still Torments no matter how cute they look, so if you let your guard down you'll discover that these little critters are bloodthirsty and vicious to a fault! But you should still get a quick pet in while you're being mauled. They're nice and fluffy.

⧖ There's an uptick of Torment activity around Fury Peak, which has not started looking any nicer despite the spring atmosphere! For the most part, it's the usual rocky and firey critters but rumors abound of some rat-looking Torments that are stalking the place and catching Dreamers out when they least expect it. Of course, even in a dream, it's unlikely that rodents of such unusual size would exiAUGH

⧖ Facet Lagoon is usually a nice place to spend a sunny day but unfortunately for you, it's all business here! A huge sea monster Nightmare has been spotted in the waters in and around the lagoon and its size means teamwork will be necessary to take it down. Are you a bad enough guy to handle a giant sea monster?!

[Yuffie catches them -- both of them -- with ease. It helps that she is a ninja, so catching two things at once isn't hard for her.

Then, she tosses one, starting to juggle it -- then a second, and she gets a decent rhythm going with juggling them.

For a moment, at least.]

[Nikki says cheerfully before he continues to eat the white chocolate bar he has on hand. Once she gets a decent rhythm going with both of them, he holds the (almost finished) chocolate between his teeth as he claps. You can just make out the muffled "グッド・ジョブ!" from behind the chocolate.

Yes, he's saying it in Engrish. Even though he speaks fluent English. For the memes]

[She keeps juggling, but she grins when he says 'good job' (if with chocolate in his mouth). She finally stops, then opens one of the chocolate bars and has a bite out of it.]

I've got some practice with throwing things. I'm Yuffie!

[there's a brief pause, like he's waiting for her to elaborate. When Yuffie doesn't, Nikki raises an eyebrow as he takes his chocolate in his free hand and adds;]

... At people...?

[that shit eating grin on his face could mean anything, really. But there's a teasing lilt to his voice when he asks, so he's probably joking. Yeah. We'll go with that]

Call me 'Nikki'! [he holds out a hand for her to shake] Nice to meet a fellow choco-juggler here!

[Okay so not really. In the Dream Sphere, sure. That's not a crime to hurl her shuriken at a Torment! Here though, it's mostly the occasional wad of paper or fruit.

But a ninja must be mysterious.]

Nice to meet you! You new here or just someone I haven't met yet?

[She shakes his hand, nice and firm.]

Mhmm~ That's not suspicious at all.

[that smile on his face really gives up the game. He's totally just teasing, even as he returns the handshake before letting go.

Nikki, you're in Japan, why are you- Ah well]

Haha~ That's a pretty good attitude! I came through a while back... [probably not what she meant though. His Japanese is fluent and accent free, so he's probably not a foreigner either] But just consider me the new guy 'round the block this time around.

[Yuffie laughs a little bit at that, though.

She looks at him for a second -- definitely speaks good Japanese, so... maybe from another part of Japan? But that's no surprise. With Dreamer Union HQ here, Yuffie's gotten used to people coming and going.]

[She nods, though, tapping a finger against her cheek.]

[oh no, the mischievous light in his eyes is as clear an indication as any that letting him know there are secrets around is probably a bad idea]

Oh? Secrets you say~? [it is lilting and playful, but he hops onto his feet, shouldering his bag as he does] If that doesn't sound like adventure, I don't know what does.

How's about some sight seeing?
