MONTHLY POST
- Happy October, Dreamers! Can you believe it's so close to the end of the year already?? I hope everyone enjoyed Hibiki's Disturbance event - watching Odd plan it out was a blast but not half as much fun as watching it play out!
There are no major OOC notes/updates this time around - just a heads up that we will be having the usual cooldown month following the Disturbance so everyone's characters can unwind. There will be an easy breezy optional event happening in the Dream Sphere, but this is absolutely intended to be a relaxed month.
In addition - this was mentioned on Discord but there are now no Disturbances scheduled until next April! If you've been considering getting on the Disturbance / Player Plot train, this is a great time to do it. Monthly Plot submissions would be especially helpful as I'm currently managing those all by myself so any extra ideas to take the pressure off would be super helpful.
Also as most of you probably know, I'm currently getting my ass beat over in murdergame hell, so in order to not burn out, there won't be any available NPCs this month! That said, you can still request quick, handwaved interactions with them so feel free to drop those below as usual.

We are also pleased to confirm that Hibiki Tachibana, the Dreamer at the center of this Disturbance, has been safely retrieved and returned to the Waking World. This was made possible thanks to the exceptional efforts of Dreamers Hanako, Rhodonite, LLEN, and Mind. The Dreamer Union is already in contact with Tachibana’s family, and we are organizing both immediate and ongoing support to ensure their well-being in the aftermath of this incident.
The Dreamer Union is making significant progress in understanding the true nature of these Disturbance events, and we are closer than ever to properly analyzing their underlying causes. The collective efforts of every Dreamer—especially Dreamer Chaosbringer—are making a profound impact on our ability to confront and contain these anomalies. Your persistence in understanding and combating them has been invaluable, going a long way toward preventing further harm from befalling the Waking World.
In addition, we are still seeking contributions to the reconstruction of The Slumbering City in the wake of the invasion this past anniversary. While progress is steady, it is necessarily slow work and any additional efforts towards full restoration would be invaluable.
Once more, we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who continue to fight within the Dream Sphere, taking on the many challenges that arise.

EVENT INFO & TIMELINE
- In the wake of a Disturbance event, there will be no official even this month! Players are encouraged to take part in this month's Torment Hunt Bounty or to contribute to reconstruction efforts in the Slumbering City as requested by Chloe! This can either be played out between characters, or you can hop over to the World Alterations page and submit something cool!
Otherwise, enjoy a chill, spooky, dream-drama free month!
WORLD UPDATES
- To the relief of literally everyone in Yumemigaoka, while October is still as wet and stormy as September was, the temperature has finally dropped, hovering at around 22c/71F for most of the month. The rain might not have let up which means things are still pretty damp but with the heat and humidity of summer on the outs, those autumn showers are all kinds of refreshing! Fall has officially started and while it's a little too early for northern Japan's famously vivid fall colours to show themselves, a few trees have started to turn and shed their leaves all the same.
!WORLD EVENTS
!★! All Month: Hybrid Colours is hosting a little Trick-or-Treat, with the gallery decked out in Halloween colours, music and decor all month and capped with an animatronic werehogwolf in the corner! (Eat your heart out, Spirit Halloween) Aleena's sourced a bunch of decorations from local stores and the art pieces on display share a similar spooky theme; Dreamers will recognize parts of the Necropolis in some of the newer pieces. The proprietress herself can be found in various costumes, her trademark pastel purple hair being the only consistent thing across them all. Anyone can come in for candy/snacks! Children will get a little grab bag of treats, though adults are always welcomed to pass by as well. The werewolf statue in the back is (probably) proximity based, so if you keep your distance, you should be safe... Right?
⧖ All Month: With Halloween not far off, spooky spirits and scary movies are on everyone's minds - and as a result, Torment activity is up! The Reverie Necropolis will be buzzing with activity this month and as such, Dreamers will be encouraged to focus on it for their hunts. Torment Hunts conducted in the Reverie Necropolis this month will receive bonus points for each character.
⧖ October 1st - October 10th: Following up from last month, the Yumemigaoka's Tourism Board has decided to continue to push local business owners and residents to take part in their local tourism promotions and outreach. They're sending a team to speak with more business owners today to set up additional collaborations in the hopes of drawing more local tourists into these areas and improving business overall.
⧖ October 3rd: Torment Hunt Bounty! A powerful, but enigmatic Torment Horde has begun terrorizing the Vale of Sorrow, taking the forms of ugly, deep-sea creatures and using powerful, disorienting sounds to try and drive off any challengers. This is a Medium Risk bounty open to all Dreamers and multiple groups of characters can tackle this challenge. As a reward, characters who successfully clear this bounty will receive double points on rewards associated with this Torment Hunt.
⧖ October 7th - 11th: It's the least wonderful time of the year for students again - midterms are already back. But so long as you spent a good amount of time on your summer homework and studying then you should have it in the bag, right? R--RIGHT?
⧖ October 7th - November 10th: Matsuba World Market is looking to expand! To that end, they will be closing the location for renovations, beginning the 7th. During this time, the owners of the market will be interviewing for new staff members to help manage the expanded space and advertising the need for temporary workers for the time when it reopens!
⧖ October 12th: A small drinking party will be held to get to know the Dreamer Union's international guests! The Bri'ish kouhais have extended their stay through to next month so you've got plenty of time for hangouts.
⧖ October 15th: Oozora Curry's new location in Kihada is open for business! This location is larger and offers more seating for people who don't want to wait around for takeout. They've also got more variety on their menu - try them out and see!
⧖ October 16th - 31st: TIME TO GET SPOOKY!! Halloween is still a relatively new tradition in Yumemigaoka but the town is nicely decorated and businesses will be getting into the spirit with seasonal goods and mountains of candy to buy.
⧖ October 21st: It's Sports Day, which means schools all around Yumemigaoka will be hosting their Sports Festivals, with events throughout the day, competitions, games, and families encouraged to come visit the school for the day to watch and eat lunch together during breaks.
⧖ October 31st: It's Halloween!!! While not quite as infamous as Shibuya, Yumemigaoka hosts its own Halloween street party in Koubai where everyone is encouraged to dress up and have a ball! The party starts at around noon and continues well into to the next morning and while things do get a bit rowdy later at night, it's generally all in good fun.

About: He's Sonic the Hedgehog. Shitposter extraordinaire, naturally draws aggro because the only thing that runs faster than his feet is his smart mouth. Confident, self-assured, free spirited and totally wild. Do you need a friend? No? Too bad, everyone needs a friend so you're stuck with him now.
Both in the waking world and in the Dream Sphere, his personality is the same though his appearance is... Rather different? His hair is the bright Sonic blue, his eyes are green, his outfit leans harder into ouji fashion with a punk flair. He has ears and a short tail you can't see under the trail of the bow on his back. Kind of shameless, loves running around the Dream Sphere like he loves running around the waking world.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: His mom's art gallery is also hosting a trick-or-treat! Feel free to swing by if you'd like, idk if I'll be around to throw up a mingle for it or not... I might? We'll see. Yes this is an excuse to use the spooky Sonic music. More importantly though, I WANNA DO A TORMENT HUNT!!

Introduction: Hello, I'm Luna and the Hanako spin-off series + Sonadow Generations game dropping this month is going to make me extra insufferable for a month, my apologies in advance--
Character Name: Amane Yugi
Canon: Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun
About: An awkward, introverted middle-schooler by daylight, and a goofy, mischievous gremlin Dreamer by moonlight! In his waking hours, he helps out at his family's old cafe-slash-flower shop in Moon Bunny Market, while carving out a bit of a name for himself as Dreamer Hanako in the Dream Sphere by going on numerous excursions and taking on new trainees! Up until earlier this year, he had been trying to maintain a firm divide between his two identities, although his own Disturbance rendered that all mostly moot, so! He's been starting to be a bit more candid about his Dreamer identity to folks, though with the year being the roller coaster it's been, it's easier said than done OTL;;
Amane also has a heart condition that's kept him largely isolated growing up, which has left him sort of detached from his peers and fairly lonely-- although his cagey attitude about things (and just being a huge pain in the butt in the Dream Sphere) hasn't done him much favors either! Throw in a guilt complex about his brother getting lost in the Dream Sphere during their childhood, the effect his Disturbance had on the people he cares about, and his relative uselessness during recent events and he's just an absolute funbag worth of angst that he's maybe or maybe not been working through. (Heavier on the "not" side, sobs--)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: First and foremost-- I may be MIA in a couple of weeks since I'm going to be working at NYCC this year! I'm thankfully not falling into cosplay hell again for that, so I should be around for at least the first half of the month, but if things slow down on my end near the end of October.... y'all know why 8'| That said, I'm definitely leaning towards more chill/SOL things for Amane this month! Spooky month is His Season, so I do want to do more with that (maybe a rehash of last year where he and Tsukasa made utterly cursed costumes for either Camellia's outdoor booth), but I'd also like for him to get back on the horse with more Excursions and Torment Hunts! He needs some normal Dreamer activities after getting his ass thoroughly beat by Hibiki, okay OTL;; He may also be in a bit of a Funk thanks to this last Disturbance reopening old wounds, so if anyone wants to pick up on that/chat with him about it, feel free!
Also I kind of want to implement the whole "flower delivery service" thing this month, so if there's any IC functions you want Camellia to deliver flower arrangements to, lmk!

About: The ever cheerful and terrifyingly strong Hibiki Tachibana! Although as of recently, maybe she isn't as endlessly cheerful as everyone thought. Turns out that even she has problems to deal with, and the kind that she can't solve by punching it too.
Having come out of her own Disturbance, Hibiki is in the middle of recovering emotionally... but she'll be keeping up a strong front as much as she can. Still, now that she's out of her Disturbance, there's a lot that she has to deal with... stuff that she's resolved to not run away from this time.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: In the short term, I want people to absolutely tackle this girl with hugs after her Disturbance. GIVE THE GIRL SOME COMFORT. SHE DESPERATELY NEEDS IT.
More importantly though, something that's going to happen this month for Hibiki is, of course, dealing with her shitty dad. She's a bit embarrassed that her family troubles were revealed to every single Dreamer who came in after her, but that's just par for the course with Disturbances, huh? Put simply, she wants to meet with him again. NOT to take him up on his offer, of course, and she'll assure anyone who's concerned that she's not about to forgive him or anything. Truthfully, there's a lot of complicated feelings regarding her not wanting to forgive him, but she can't run away from those now.
One thing that she wants to request from at least one friend however is... well, for them to be there. Not sitting next to her, but just sitting nearby so that Hibiki can lean on them once it's over, and because knowing that they're there is enough to give her courage. Signing up for this means a front-row seat to the resolution between Hibiki and her dad, though she'll ask your character to not speak up or anything no matter what her dad says.
This could also lead into... well, a birthday party for Hibiki! Alas, as a result of her being in a Disturbance last month, Hibiki missed her own birthday. Heck, she completely forgot about it, even. Give this girl a surprise party, please.
On a more long-term note... I need to submit for points first, but Hibiki will be coming away from her disturbance with a new ability that's a little tricky for her to handle, and once I actually submit for it... she'll need close friends and/or capable Dreamers around to help her out with it.
And as a final note... I'm thinking it'd be good for Hibiki to become a mentor. When it happens is up in the air, but after all of the angst I've written for her, writing some more positive developments in her life would be nice.
Desired CR: FRIENDS!! COMFORT!! PARENTAL FIGURES READY TO ADOPT THE GIRL WITH A TERRIBLE FATHER!! Hibiki is in need of some positive CR this month, that's for sure.

Introduction: Supervisor for Retail Hell. Magical girl and band girl appreciator; also a fan of games involving Cute Girls Doing Cute Things if we still use that genre descriptor. Work's been burning me out so I've been a little slow the last couple months - sorry for that. I really wanna get back to things! So let's do something!
Character Name: Lisa Imai
Canon: BanG Dream! Girls Band Party
About: University freshman; Team Mom who went through some bullying in middle school and had a hard few years failing to deal with it properly. She's very good at outwardly playing her ideal, bubbly, caring, outgoing self, but it's masking some moderate insecurities that can cause her to react unexpectedly and show visible cracks in her facade. She's working on the worst of her emotional excesses, and it's showing, but it's also taking some time. Big into fashion and bright colors, so long as her mood's not bringing her down; makes her own clothing and accessories. Bakes cute and tasty sweets and gives them away freely; still stress bakes sometimes. Practicing her bass guitar again, and carries it when there's space on her shoulder beside her school bag. Trying not to gush over slash lean too much on her girlfriend, Junna. In the Dream Sphere, protects others with her starsand-filled bass as Dreamer Rhodonite. Signed on to a unit with Ai and Hibiki, but will join in if anyone needs a spot filled in their pick-up group, too.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Surprise, pushing herself hard in a Disturbance has screwed Lisa right up. Again. This time it came with a side of physical pain from getting a spike buried in her side fighting Hibiki's Night Terror, which is pushing her even further off-balance. She's... largely fine, but some of her other issues are complicating things, and so she's still dealing with her emotions along with the phantom pains. She's talking through her problems and will decompress (slowly) over the course of the month, but... yeah. This is just how she is, sorry for her.
Lisa will benefit from people to relax with this month. It's finally cool enough she can bake again, and she'll be doing that if she can find the time - although the World Market closing for renovations for a month won't help, since she can't get food coloring at Tomoe. Practicing her bass will also help calm her down, and she can be found more or less anywhere her being loud won't cause problems - at her university campus, at the DU in a practice room, in outdoor spaces, and at times in the Slumbering City. And, in a bit of a change of pace, she'll also be interested in some violence to help work off the stress... that'll be in the Dream Sphere, though. Please bring her along on your Excursions and Torment Hunts, she'll be good for some backup. Bring her along on anything! She needs company.
She's also going to be more seriously looking at moving out this month, because Hibiki's Disturbance rattled her, and rather than trying to patch things up with parents that are too busy to give her a serious time investment - and with whom she kind of got in a fight, but I do want to try to actually thread that information out - she's going to remove herself from the situation. This is... not entirely likely to end well, but it'll make her feel better in the short-to-medium term, and that's
definitely notwhat's important, right? She'll be looking for someone to room with, although her parents were always willing to fund a place for her by herself; if she can't find anyone, either she'll find a one-bedroom apartment, or I'll find her a nice NPC roomie. Honestly, though, she's doing this to not be alone so often, so she'll be less likely to settle for a place by herself.Desired CR: Musicians and those with related vocations! Hell, she'll even take up singing. Maybe. She insists she's bad but she's at least decent. College students! Young adults! New residents! Dreamers! And honestly, probably anyone else I haven't mentioned yet. Special note again this month for prospective roommates within a couple years of age of her! She's low-maintenance, aside from bass practice which she could do with headphones if asked, and will provide baked goods? You just might have to deal with her mood swings on occasion.

Its a pretty fancy place, and not the sort of apartment a college student would normally be living in by herself. It'd probably be difficult for Lisa to rent a room for herself, but thankfully she knows someone with a place of her own that isn't being charged rent.
After being the first person she confessed her Dreamer identity to, as well as being in two major fights together, it doesn't feel out of the question Karen would offer to help if she ever found out Lisa needed a place.

About: Still-Closeted Genderfluid dancer kid with a ruse of being two people when they're just one person who has little idea of who they actually are or should be when it all comes down to it. Acts as a Dreamer girl with a normal brother, when said "brother" is actually their excuse to go out and have a break from all the serious stuff! Like fighting! And strict dance practice! And thinking about their depression & identity issues!
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I meant for last month to have some Nagihiko-focused stuff, but since i got focused on Disturbance stuff that's being shoved here instead! After a certain event that occurred in the Disturbance, they're starting to wonder of this little plan of theirs is really going to be sustainable in the long run, since if something like it happens again, it could get people suspicious.
annnddddd Clearly the answer to that is to just. Not Think About It! instead, Fujisaki's gonna be focusing on the happy parts of this month. AKA ITS THE START OF THE LATE-YEAR HOLIDAY SEASON WOOOOOOO
(seriously if you've never watched SC thats a whole thing. they ADORE holidays, and get Very Serious about planning parties and stuff for them. we mainly see them getting excited over christmas but with their mischief & love of scaring people i like to think they love halloween too)
so yeah, halloween is coming and that is THEIR TIME. no sad thoughts we're here to get candy and admire decor and scare the heck out of people.
...ok back on the serious side, i meant to do this a LOT earlier but now's as good a time as any: before fully putting any of it in the back of her mind for the rest of the month, nadeshiko wants to do some research on Dreamsphere and Dreamer stuff. in particular, she wants to learn as much as she can about Disturbances so that she can be prepared for if/when another happens, and also look into some stuff about past Dreamers; specifically, she wants to see if anyone else has had some sort of companion like she has Temari, and see if she can figure out how that whole concept works, hoping that it might get her a step closer to finding Rhythm (not that she'll admit that).
Desired CR: For the halloween stuff: enjoy the festivities with them! or don't because they might end up doing silly harmless pranks or scaring you. bc it's funny. they're here to be a menace and by god they're gonna do it. unless ur someone who also wants to scare people in which case. Join Them.
on the serious side: this could be a chance for other dreamers, or some non-dreamer union staff, to meet Nadeshiko (be it entirely or having only met her in the Dreamsphere as Maihime, or in waking-world context where your muse never learned she was a Dreamer) while she's doing her research. do you wanna help? or are you maybe curious about why she's looking up what she is? she has zero additional motives behind the latter objective beyond learning more abt temari i promise she promises don't worry about it ahahahahahahahhahah

But if they're going to be looking into Disturbance/past Dreamer related stuff, I could definitely throw Amane at them for that! He was around when the first one manifested last year (and has had the dubious honor of causing one himself, although he may be... less keen to provide that info because it's still a sensitive subject), so he'd be happy to answer any questions Nadeshiko has if she's poking around the DU about it! He's been doing his own research on and off over who may be triggering these in people, so while he probably won't know much about previous Dreamers with familiars like hers, he at least sort of knows how to navigate through the files at this point lmao
but also I would just like to do more with Fujisaki in general, Dreamer or non-Dreamer related, since I haven't had the chance to throw him at them as much as I've wanted to f,bdsjkf

oooo yeah i'm liking that idea!! having someone with that sort of experience would definitely help. admittedly she's not expecting many people to be familiar with the concept of a dreamer having a familiar, since nobody else she's met has one and many seemed surprised temari was there at all, but even just having a general idea of where to look would be nice. her focus will probably be on the Disturbances though, since she just feels she'll be able to find more info on that overall

But YEAH, since the Disturbances are a more recent phenomenon compared to like-- the disappearances of Dreamer Crimson and Dreamer Reverie, she's going to have an easier time finding info on it in general, although talking with someone with firsthand knowledge about it is definitely good too, lmao-- also I am a dumb and completely forgot that he DOES know of a couple of Dreamers with familiars (Nene and more recently, Illya), although their familiars don't have the same sort of sentience as Nadeshiko's does so OTL;;
And OH MAN, whenever I get my catch-all up for the month (which should... hopefully be sometime this week?? maybe???), I do want to put up a prompt where he's spooking folks in Necropolis again (he did it last year, but now he has improved intangibility AND invisibility powers now so it's Extra Over For Everyone), so that could be a good place for them to run into one another! Having a Trolling Buddy will be so good for him, you don't even know 😭😭

About: A high school senior, who turned 18 on October 1! She is serious, thoughtful, and more than a little dramatic. Junna is a very hard worker, who has only sorta half-learned how to not burn herself out. It's a work in progress. She's trying, though. She is Dreamer Sage, too, who uses a bow and is... actually coming along as a Dreamer!

Introduction: Local lover of cute alchemy girl games here. Of late I've been absorbed in both a game that is a decade old at this point, Terraria, and the new Sword Art Online game solely so I can play as the Gun Gale Online girls. I will also be getting used to working in a new store in the same company soon, but its closer to home so I expect it to be a positive change. I just wish it didn't have to happen because of my current one was closing down.
Character Name: Karen Kohiruimaki
Canon: Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (which just started its second season, good time to learn all about what it means to be pink)
About: Karen is a very different person in the Dream Sphere then she is in the real world. In the real world she's a tall girl who is finally starting to deal with her 'I am a freakin' giant why didn't my body stop growing?!' complex, but in the Dream Sphere she becomes LLENN, a girl who represents her ideal of what it means to be 'cute'. While Karen is soft spoken and tends to think her actions through, as LLENN she is impulsive, often acting without putting enough thought into what she's doing. She's trying to make each of these two sides of her personality a little more like the other, to find a happy middle ground.
She's an avid and skilled player in various MMORPGs, where she always picks the smallest and/or cutest choices she can. Her main game, and the origin of her Dreamer form, is Gun Gale Online, which is just a normal online game in this world and not full dive VR. She's a well known player there. Her time with the game has given her a small interest in real life guns, and she owns an airsoft replica of her preferred in game weapon, the unusually shaped P90. She also carries a pink colored keychain of the same gun on her at all times.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: This is going to be the first month of the Rest of Her Life, where she is finally going to start being open about being a Dreamer. She's hidden it since I had her joined the game, so I would like to have her get properly involved with things. While I definitely want to have LLENN go on some excursions and/or hunts, I really would like things centered around the real world. She hasn't had a lot of chances to just openly speak with others about what it even means to be a Dreamer.
Desired CR: Now that I have decided to stop going at everything solo, I'd like to start towards working on getting this Pink Devil into a unit of some sort. She is a pretty talented little Striker, and would be an asset to any team that needs one. On the off chance there is anyone else that appreciates guns, she could chat with them as well (though the player doesn't really know guns that well so I would probably have to do some research!). I don't know how many other college aged characters are here (I know of two and Karen already knows them both) but if I missed anyone, you may poke at me for school related rp as well!

Introduction: Hi I'm XC. Been around LJ and DW for over ten years now, lurking in and out of games and existing like a Creature. I've just been reading the light novel series this girl is from along with enjoying various manga and anime and Gundam and stuff. Collecting old video game consoles lately so you can always bug me about those?
Character Name: Ai Kozakura
Canon: Otherside Picnic
About: A tiny little grouch but a pretty brilliant cognitive scientist, she's actually just kind of gruff about being a softy. Also a massive coward who avoids head-on combat, and her powers sure suit it.
She wasn't interested in the Dream Sphere previously, but met a dreamer by the name of Satsuki Uruma in college who dragged her into it - which lead to her becoming Dreamer Mind and joining the DU to put her specialty to use studying the Dream Sphere. Satsuki was obsessive about venturing deeper, often on her own, however, which built tension between them... and then one day Satsuki disappeared.
Now Kozakura is left dealing with that, all while wondering if Satsuki wasn't up to something super sketchy at the same time.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I need to get back up and eat that horse, so I'd like to throw Kozakura into a hunt or two if anyone wants her. Chris got swept and I'll consider re-apping at some point but rn let's see if I can get things going with Koza again.
Long term will be seeing if we can't work something out with the Satsuki stuff to make her plot relevant, or if she's just a tragic backstory event.
Desired CR: Children to annoy her into taking care of them, adult coworkers for her to gripe at. More experienced DU employees who would know Satsuki, although she was kind of an odd woman who often ran in her own small social circles.

About: The Hoshino twin with a gloomy personality that completely contrasts with the personalities of his twin sister
and secret mother. TOTALLY bit the bullet with him last month (bit the bullet with activity in general, but hush) but I call forth the excuse of having written a whole Disturbance for another character and hyperfocused on that. Besides, he's also a normie, so it's not like he could've gotten involved anyway.(The above fact does not bother him in the slightest. Not at all.)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Gotta find shit for him to do in the waking world. More seriously, he's yet again going to be rattled about the whole Disturbance thing that keeps happening... though he's pretty good at hiding it.
He'll be hanging around for Halloween! And he'll probably have been convinced into wearing a costume at some point prior.
