Player Name: rea (she/her) Contact: pm here or at boundlessly, or jiwooming Introduction: hi all! had my eye on this game for the last few weeks when i got back into dwrp, and have been muddling around different ideas on who i'd bring if i join. so now i'm here! couple of character ideas cause i'm not sure what will fit best into the existing taken list atm!
aside from ran below who i've actually conceptualized some parts of already, i'm also considering mizi from alien stage or ayano tateyama from kagerou project but have 0.5 ideas for them, i can be convinced if someone is more interested in either of those options n_n
Character Name: ran shibuki (18 years old) Canon: aikatsu
About: have some general vibes! more general info about ran from canon can be found in her journal.
» ran has been in entertainment since she was a child, starting out as a child model for children's clothing brands and then moved on her way to acting for a short period of time. this sparked her interest in fashion and modeling. she just graduated from promised morning private school and is now attending university as a fashion design major, while working some side gigs in the meanwhile.
» she's normally cool, calm, collected. ran is the type who thinks before she acts, often the voice of reason. when she's around people who she isn't very close with, ran tends to be more reserved. only those she has completely put her trust in see the more softer (and sometimes cute!) side to her personality.
» tentatively dreamer ageha, striker type. about 3 years under her belt? her dreamer appearance has purple, pink, red, gold, and butterfly motifs similar to this
» when she first started out as a dreamer, ran became good friends with someone her first year at promised morning. they were classmates and partners; as much as they could, they performed their dreamer duties together. i imagine they could have been known as ~that duo or at least, people knew that they were usually doing things together.
» however one day something happened to this friend! whatever happened to this friend? i'm not quite sure yet - but something along the lines of them disappearing/dying while out on dreamer duties ?? most help and guidance here would be appreciated.
» ANYWAY after the incident, ran was devastated by this and decided that it would be better for her to work solo (as much as she could) than to form attachments to someone who she could potentially lose. she doesn't want to go through that pain again, but sometimes... you just form bonds with people... and then you start caring about them... that's where you all come in!
Short Term & Long Term Plans: would love ran to get over her complex and be part of a team or unit! she recognizes when working with others will benefit her but she doesn't want to necessarily form that close connection in case... what if something happens to you... then she'll be sad :(
Desired CR/AU Castmates: ran is idol-adjacent so anyone in entertainment would be great cr! in addition, maybe people who would have known her + her friend a few years ago so they know what happened and are trying to help her be more of a team player? remind her that it's ok to love again?? also, people may know her from her modeling work so that's also another connection!
Anything Else?: most of ran's general backstory is the same as her original verse, the main differences are that a.) she didn't pursue becoming an idol and just stayed in her fashion/modeling niche, and b.) she didn't meet ~her two best friends~ from canon so she never got over her "if i work alone i don't have to feel hurt when my friend vanishes/dies/breaks up with me/etc" complex that she had at the beginning of the aikatsu series.
should any aikatsus be apped later, i'm happy to retcon/adjust/headcanon things so it can be more cohesive and work for all of us!
i'm still reading thru all of the info and trying to process it so sorry if there is anything wrong/incorrect here orz
I have absolutely no character that would fit the criteria of "been in Yumemigaoka a while" (they all moved in recently) nor idol/model adjacent. BUT!!
This was also my first game back after leaving DWRP as a hobby. 'w'b Just here to encourage you. and i'll probably hit you up on the TDM once I finish sorting through my current tags/work. everyone's very friendly and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask (someone probably knows the answer lol)

it's funny bc i had questions reading through the info but once i get to a point where i can ask the questions suddenly leave my brain. great to hear how friendly everyone is! will definitely keep it in mind
I watched small chunks of Aikatsu a long time ago, so while I don't quite remember most of the characters I definitely get the vibe and Ran's perfect. I love this in concept.
And on that note, here's a bassist that has some minor trust issues and approximately zero self-worth, I bet they would get along. Lisa's getting back into music after setting it down for mental health reasons a couple years ago, and has a Unit with Ai Hoshino and Hibiki Tachibana to basically do music things in the Dream Sphere, but she also, uh. Needs friends. And would intimately understand where Ran's coming from with her approach to making connections. She's also been in Yumemigaoka her whole life and followed Dreamer news and popular teams, so she might recognize Ageha by description, even though Lisa herself's only been Dreamer Rhodonite for... almost two years now, aaaaa.

just had an idea come to mind and it's something like: having met a few times through work, whether it just be in passing ships in the night in the city or crossing paths as dreamers, ran might feel conflicted on whether or not she should really be so stubborn about not making friends with other dreamers... like at first meeting she'd be like, "ok. cool. see you. (leaves as soon as she can)"
but then repetitive meetings with lisa would naturally get her to warm up to her some more and... then lisa probably notices an obvious shift in the ran either talks or treats her that is a sign of her finally opening up ?! boom. friends!
though i think she still holds a bit of envy since lisa's found other people to be in a unit with and she's just over here like..... must be nice...!!
i'm rambling but !! love the idea of these two so (grabby hands)

I could absolutely see this, with a side of Lisa's powerset being to enhance both herself and other nearby Dreamers during performances. It's tuned for her bass and she's in her Unit because the other two sing (and Ai dances) and she's got that enhancer, and she's a Sentry to hold the frontline while everyone else performs and shoots from the back...
Even without that, though, I'd totally be down for something like this, I think it's wonderful and you've gotten a lot further than I was when I apped in, sob.
