About:
*Franz hails from a well-to-do family, his father was once a French ambassador to Japan. However, he died in an accident when Franz was six, and his mother took him back to Paris for his education. Since the death of his father, his family has struggled financially, but his mother insists on keeping up appearances amidst their traditional social/economic class.
*Due to this, Franz grew up with an intense feeling of pressure to stay on the path decided by his parents, and despite having clear feelings for his childhood best friend, Albert, remains closeted about his homosexuality (in that "90% of people around him have figured it out" way) and even adopted a bit of a carefree persona with the ladies.
*Franz's transformation took place while fighting a Nightmare that was targeting Albert somehow. However, he barely made it (either the Nightmare is still out there in some capacity or a different Dreamer managed to purify it after the fact), and so has decided to head to Yumemigaoka to train and improve as a Dreamer. He did not tell his friends in Paris about this decision.
*Despite appearing like a carefree teenager with a tendency toward bluntness and sarcasm, Franz is actually quite observant, hardworking and diligent. He's somewhat cynical toward the world and others' motivations, used to navigating a world where everyone bases things on wealth and appearances, but deep down he is loving and loyal.

*I'm thinking Franz will have a sort duelist/chevalier persona built around fencing and light (but stylish!) armor. Possibly a dodge tank type.
Desired CR/AU Castmates:
*I'm not optimistic, this is a really old, somewhat obscure canon, but ofc I'd love castmates, especially Albert, The Count (Somehow?? I kind of envision Gankutsuou as being a Nightmare in this scenario), or Eugenie.
*Gay bestie support group? A mutual beard situation with a disaster lesbian where they both help each other out until they're ready to be a bit more open? I liked the aspect of Franz in canon where he's part of an arranged engagement to a literal Best Girl but just isn't interested in her that way even though he thinks she's lovely. I think it might be fun for him to start out in a similar relationship, but I don't want it to be too much of a bummer for the other character.
*Just some genuine opening up to the fact that he has other options aside from pining away to death for his childhood friend?
*General high school/SoL shenanigans - I see Franz as someone who's as interested in his social life as studying, and with his interest in being a diplomat in the future, might take plart in student leadership. He's also not not above getting into trouble and playing pranks. I'd love for him to have friends his age of all kinds.
*Mentors - Franz would definitely benefit from one as a Novice, and also just as an academically driven young man trying to make it on his own by himself in a foreign country.

About: Cynthia is a half-Japanese, half-American woman who originally grew up in Hokkaido. Her grandmother instilled a love of the sciences in her from a young age, and she eventually grew up to be a marine biologist; however, she also has an interest in general biology, archaeology, and all manner of scientific fields. These days, she's the director of Yumemigaoka Aquarium, but she's also involved in giving guest lectures at the various schools and organizing events around town and also field trips for anyone who's interested in the natural world.
She also trains sharks.
Aside from that, she's been a dreamer since 2016, so about 7 years (she's now 32, so she became a dreamer at the age of 25). She's seen some shit over the years, and wants to be a guiding force for younger Dreamers, so she'd probably work as a mentor.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Well, first of all, I came up with Yumemigaoka Aquarium not just for Cynthia's background, but so it can also serve as the requisite anime trope date spot that a mahou-based series definitely needs!
Second of all, I intend to have her become a mentor and generally do her best to guide younger Dreamers. There's also her acting as a lover of the sciences as well, so having her plan events and such and being around generally guiding, advising, and help teaching is what I plan to have her involved as well.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Coworkers, students, fellow academics...I want them all! Cynthia could help tutor people outside of being a dreamer, meeting her through the aquarium, and having her be involved in the school system are all possibilities! I also plan to have her organize events around town and for the aquarium.
As for canonmates, anyone from Pokémon would be great, especially characters from Sinnoh! If you want them connected to Cynthia, I'd love to work something out! I've also really wanted to play Cynthia off a Geeta or Diantha for a while now, if anyone has a muse/ideas for them!

Introduction: Hi, I'm Salsa, he/him, I've been here since the Great Migration and have very strange tastes. AU games have been my jam for a long time. I enjoy mahous, band girls and idols, mecha, the occasional slice of life thing, RPGs, and I used to watch Detective Conan every week. These days I'm into Atelier, G-Witch, Ascendance of a Bookworm, Precure, Bandori, Love Live (SIF2 when Bushi???), and I'm working through Honkai Impact 3rd in preparation for Star Rail in... what, a week? I haven't been in a game in a while so I'll be a little rusty, I think, but I love the aesthetic here and I want to give it a try. I want to review a little on at least one of these nerds before I actually post a TDM, but I want to at least get my thoughts down so someone can poke me if they have ideas. I am on Mountain time but also work an early morning stocking job, so I am most commonly available afternoons MDT and sometimes weekends. I have a keyboard in my locker at work though, if I get a notification I'm capable of limited tagging during the day. Sometimes. Maybe. (I read threads all day though, it's a problem but not really.)
I've got Setsuna Yuki (Love Live! School Idol Project/Festival/All Starsplease save me from this franchise), Yui Nanase (Go! Princess Precure; would probably app as a civvie), and Yui Yumekawa (Idol Time PriPara) in my back pocket but I'm not ready to app any of them as first characters; if I stick to BD I may come back to one of them. So for now, this is the one I have in mind:

Canon: BanG Dream! Girls Band Party (Bandori for short)
About: Designated Team Mom in search of a new team to mom at. High school senior, for my sanity. Plays the bass guitar; she slowed down on it through late middle school and into high school due to some kind of Incident, but has recently started to pick it up again after Awakening as a Dreamer and finding her weapon is her bass. Will tend toward support powers once she has some, I think, but will absolutely go Mama Bear if someone she's looking out for is in trouble, magic or not.
Easygoing but can be somewhat insecure, and has minor to moderate self-worth issues. Gives freely of herself, sometimes to excess - call her and she's there, text your sob story and she'll listen into the wee hours. A romantic at heart; enthralled by the idea of magic, despite having it herself. Active on social media but not overly so, and definitely doesn't go back and skim comments on anything else talking about her.It's Lisa, not Aya. Open and social, up to try almost anything once. A good-ish student - willing to help others with their homework or test prep, but doesn't want to put in the effort to be top of the class. Casual with everyone; respectful enough to people she doesn't know, but tends to drop honorifics once she's familiar with you.
Loves to make things. Sketches clothing and accessory ideas in the margins of her notes. Will make you a new outfit with a big smile, enjoying it as much as she likes making new designs for herself. Carries spare scarves and knit hats like other people carry a spare umbrella. Also bakes, especially sweets; carries a bag of cookies for emergencies too. Can make cute shapes if motivated but usually sticks to simple things - taste is more important!Is banned from trying to mix the two hobbies after her last attempt to make oven mitts caught fire. Believes a fresh look and a fresh snack can brighten anyone's day. (Traded away dance club from canon.)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Lisa will initially be going through a bit of a self-discovery phase, as she reacclimates to being a musician again; I haven't figured out exactly why she stopped, and will probably leave it as a Noodle Incident if nothing comes to mind. That phase is also influenced by her transferring to Promised Morning this year after a very recent Awakening, so she'll be trying to realign her social circle and how she functions on a day-to-day basis. She is probably still waffling on whether or not to sign on with the Union but is leaning toward joining - yarn money is hard to pass up.
I don't have any long term plans in mind yet. I think Lisa's going to be going with the flow for a bit and letting her heart guide her.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Fellow high-school students! Lisa is a social butterfly and will be happy to chat with anyone and everyone, all the time, possibly too much but who's counting? Also, people that play instruments! Lisa canonically is garbage at lyrics but tries hard anyway, but if you need someone to run your bass line, she's your girl. I would love castmates but I have zero expectation of that. Instead she'll be a presence at anything that passes for a music venue in Yumemigaoka - surely there's a live house somewhere in the city. Or a light music club at Promised Morning. Or just other people she sees with a gig bag.
Also also, people that like clothing or plushies! This aspect is new for the AU so I'll be feeling it out a little, but I'm thinking of her as being in - or running, if necessary - some kind of fashion club, or maybe a sewing club, or a crafts club if she can't find anyone for something that specific. She will absolutely gift clothing (at least accessories) to people, and will probably show up to school in something she's made at least once a month. Probably takes commissions, too.

Canon: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger
About: In canon, he's a bird-dino guy who founds a Super Sentai team. Here, he's going to be a paleontology professor, has written several books, and can talk your ear off about dinosaurs if you're not careful. He will lean into the absentminded professor stereotype for his own amusement and to get out of all those mundane life things that might prevent him from going out and doing Dreamer things. He's been a Dreamer for a while and loving every minute--the adventure really gets his blood pumping and helping people in this way is something he finds extremely fulfilling. He's had a massive falling out with his family of origin and is happily living his own life ignoring his asshole older brother and assorted asshole cousins who live in another city.
Also he's died and gotten better a couple times in canon and I'm thinking "should probably be dead, squeaks by and survives anyway" is a funny reputation to have so I'm going to roll with that. In canon he eventually becomes the living incarnation of bravery but he's not reckless, which is fun to play with. He understands consequences, he swears!
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I'm still toying with the overall vibe I'm going with for him in regards to how much personal tragedy I want him to have experienced and how well he's gotten over it, pretty much playing with where in canon I want to lean on for the AU. I could play it as lost teammates causing him to want to pull away from people...or he's relatively well-adjusted and wants to mentor at anything that moves. I'm more likely than not going for the latter, let him dad at you.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Does anyone want to be the most long-suffering TA ever, I am offering a once in a lifetime chance to try to keep this man on track as far as all the boring things that come with professorship go. And grade essays. Please grade all his essays. He could also have one sibling he gets on with, which opens up the possibility of potential niblings for him to dote on. About: A totally normal teenager with no problems whatsoever. Ei is a high school student in a family dynamic that's recently shifted a bit, with his stepsister recently moving in. He's new to the whole Dreamer thing and (for reasons I'm still working on) has some memory problems as well. He's not a full on amnesiac, but he does have the occasional gap in his memories and some pretty bad headaches to go with it.

He's pretty protective of his sister and a decent part of his motivation for even bothering with the Dream Sphere is to help out Ryoko.
Personality wise, Ei's not the friendliest sort and has a loner complex that is just absolute bullshit. Literally see above about him doing all this to help his sister. He's still pushing people away regardless of him being actually soft, because of just a bunch of self loathing issues. We'll work on that.

About: A totally normal teenager with no problems whatsoever. Ei is a high school student in a family dynamic that's recently shifted a bit, with his stepsister recently moving in. He's new to the whole Dreamer thing and (for reasons I'm still working on) has some memory problems as well. He's not a full on amnesiac, but he does have the occasional gap in his memories and some pretty bad headaches to go with it.

He's pretty protective of his sister and a decent part of his motivation for even bothering with the Dream Sphere is to help out Ryoko.
Personality wise, Ei's not the friendliest sort and has a loner complex that is just absolute bullshit. Literally see above about him doing all this to help his sister. He's still pushing people away regardless of him being actually soft, because of just a bunch of self loathing issues. We'll work on that.

✿ Amane was born and raised in Akabeni with his younger identical twin brother Tsukasa; family runs a long-standing vintage curio/flower shop in Moon Bunny Market which the boys occasionally pitch in with! Essentially just a normal middle-class household living a modest (albeit busy) life maintaining the store that's been passed down through the generations.
✿ Developed a HUGE passion for space/astronomy as a kid and has harbored a dream of becoming an astronaut (or at least something in the field), as well as a love for robotics/engineering and is one of the few things that is guaranteed to get him to open up when asked. He also LOVES spooky tales and urban legends, and has probably seen more horror movies than he should have as a child.
✿ He was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when he was very young, but since he was born in the modern era and not the 1950s where there weren't as many treatments available (unlike his OU counterpart), he was able to grow and survive at least until his teen years thanks to modern medicine! (And not his brother making deals with eldritch deities and yeeting himself into the void to cure him like... in canon... sobs) Of course, this came with the burden of multiple surgeries and treatments growing up, so his childhood was a mostly lonely one supplemented with lots of books, movies, and other non strenuous activities, with the occasional company and support of his healthier twin. Amane still needs the occasional test/treatment and medicine even now (and probably will indefinitely), but for the time being, he's doing mostly okay-- physically, at least. Mentally and emotionally is another story, because BOY is this child a lonely mess and he doesn't quite know how to cope with it yet :')
✿ Thanks to the stress/worries throughout his childhood, Amane was nearly attacked by a Nightmare when he was about 8 or 9, which was fended off by his brother Tsukasa-- who then proceeded to disappear for about six months in the Dream Sphere, which!! Understandably caused a lot of distress in their already strained household at the time!! Thankfully, Tsukasa returned on his own somehow, though he also came back a bit... off, and no one can quite pinpoint how or why.
✿ Attacked by the same Nightmare yet again at the start of middle school, thanks to the guilt over the incident with his brother adding on top of all of his other concerns, but this time he manages to fight back and Awaken as Dreamer Hanako! (Name possibly pending because I am creatively bankrupt, shhh)
✿ Quickly realizes how much more he can do in his Dreamer form compared to his weaker condition in the Waking World, and decides to live his best life by leaning into a more cheerful, playful, mischievous gremlin persona while transformed, vs the more shy, closed off nerd he is in his normal, day to day life.
✿ That said, he very deliberately refuses to talk about his regular self while in the Dream Sphere, and is very intent on keeping his Dreamer life and Waking life separate, to prevent the inevitable fussing and pitying that comes with people learning about his condition, because!! It sucks!! He deals with it enough while awake!!!
✿ Mmmmay have possibly joined the dark mahous for a quick minute, got freaked out, and then went to the DU because while he might not be an idealistic or starry-eyed kid, at least they'll pay him and MAN does his family have a ton of medical debt thanks to his assand also maybe a girl was involved in his decision too
✿ Currently in his second year of middle school (debating on him going to Promised Morning or sticking to his old school to really keep his Dreamer/real world identities separate but idk) and first full year of Dreamer activities, and hopefully this double life won't go absolutely sideways for him (spoilers: it definitely will)

But in all seriousness, Amane at his core is a deeply lonely kid who's masking a lot of concerns and problems under a cheery, gremlin façade in the Dream Sphere, so him being able to make friends and connections outside of his brother (which said relationship may already be strained at this point), is the top priority here! To quote a certain someone from canon, "he's more trouble than he's worth", but ultimately he's an alright kid who's dealing with a lot of messy emotions in regards to his family, his personal identity and his possible mortality, and I think finding the right balance between his Dreamer/Waking selves and getting him to actually be vulnerable about his feelings (as opposed to bottling them up) is the ultimate goal.
Short term, he's probably just be fighting critters in the Dream Sphere, pestering the other Novices, and dodging anyone prying into his real identity like a 4D Chess version of a Scooby Doo chase :')
