Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's very first AU/CR Plotting Meme! This first version is going up in advance of the game itself to give potential applicants the opportunity to feel out how they want to play their AUs as well as shopping around for pre-game CR and potentially some CR castmates...??? Perish the thought!
During future app rounds, the AU and CR Plotting memes will be split in two in order for new players to have a bit of breathing room in workshopping their CR but in this pre-game stretch while we're all chewing on the bars of our collective cage you get a two for one deal!
Don't feel as though you have to be 100% beholden to anything you brainstorm here – ultimately this is just to get ideas flowing and to help prebake some character connections before entry into the game. Feel free to also take a look around the FAQ pages or tag about on the TDM before posting here and generate some ideas that way!

Character Name: Misato Katsuragi Canon: Neon Genesis Evangelion
About: I have some pretty vague thoughts so far, but I'm seeing her as an older Dreamer/mahou shoujo who's a bit on the darker and fucked up side. Has some kind of deep seated psychological desire for revenge due to something that happened to her family in the past and despite being a friendly person outwardly, she struggles with alcohol dependence and seeks comfort in casual physical intimacy as a way of keeping people at arm's length.
Also don't let her pretend to parent your teenagers she will fuck them up. Probably works as a teacher or a coach or something in her day job, which is a bad idea for everyone.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: None just yet, though I have vague plans with someone else to be part of a squad of jaded fucked up magical girls together, but otherwise I just want to watch Misato make ruins out of her life.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Looking for someone to be her on-again-off-again fling that she secretly harbors deep feelings for (aka, someone to be her AU Kaji) but can't admit to because she's so driven by her revenge/work. Accepting men and women and everyone else for this, because it's an AU and I can do what I want. Other messy exes who she left when things got rough/too real. Co-workers to butt heads with. Teammates and friends who can call out her shit. Teenage magical girls/boys for her to fuck up emotionally mentor.
Miyao thinks of her as an inspiration and someone he can trust because she's one of the few people that doesn't buy into the escalating bullshit martial arts school rivalry stuff that's endangering his friendships and stressing him out
but really that's because misato just doesn't give enough of a crap about any of this to care
she gives a crap, she just thinks killing the Nightmare is more important and can't be bothered to put a lot of stress/effort into high school bullshit.
Either way, Obi's an easy, low-key kind of acquaintance to have, and won't judge her for being dark or jaded. Most people he knows (outside of this Dreamer thing) are! (Most people he knows are felons.)

Between this and her TDM thread, I had the idea of Zeke doing his best to keep her in the loop on Dreamer and even Union stuff (I gather she isn't too in on the latter?) as a general goal of "it's better if we're all looking out for the kids even if our own ideologies differ".
Which is on a much quieter level also him trying to keep her from wrecking any of the kids or herself for that matter, since despite being an idiot to all appearances Zeke is a little more on the ball than people think. So maybe she could do with a slightly positive influence in her life?
Okay so as a huge Eva fan it’s so exciting seeing someone playing Misato in the wild!! Doubly so for a game like this! Would she be in the market for a shy and lonely scrawny little brunette teenager with tremendous daddy issues? I hear she’s pretty good* with those /finger guns
If Misato is a teacher, maybe she could know Cynthia thanks to her working with the school system through her job as director of Yumemigaoka Aquarium? They could be friends, and maybe drinking partners (I don't wanna presume too much in other areas, ha ha).
