Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's very first AU/CR Plotting Meme! This first version is going up in advance of the game itself to give potential applicants the opportunity to feel out how they want to play their AUs as well as shopping around for pre-game CR and potentially some CR castmates...??? Perish the thought!
During future app rounds, the AU and CR Plotting memes will be split in two in order for new players to have a bit of breathing room in workshopping their CR but in this pre-game stretch while we're all chewing on the bars of our collective cage you get a two for one deal!
Don't feel as though you have to be 100% beholden to anything you brainstorm here – ultimately this is just to get ideas flowing and to help prebake some character connections before entry into the game. Feel free to also take a look around the FAQ pages or tag about on the TDM before posting here and generate some ideas that way!

Character Name:Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi Canon: Star Wars
About: Benjamin Kenobi is an English teacher at one of the schools in Yumemigaoka. Probably the high school. He's actually from England and is a huge nerd. Expect to see him regularly in tweed jackets with leather elbow patches, or wearing a bow tie. His Japanese is just fine, but still with a notable accent.
He is also, however, an experienced dream warrior who knows the ins and outs of the dreaming as well as anyone does. He does his best to keep all the newbies safe in an increasingly dangerous world. He 40 years old, which will probably make him one of the Old Farts.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I don't have a lot. I mainly just want to have him do Jedi Things in dreamland while being a ridiculous nerd in the waking world.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I DO have some shit I want for Kenobi:
An apprentice/sidekick/bff to stand in for Anakin
An apprentice/sidekick for his apprentice/sidekick to stand in for Ahsoka
An ex girlfriend (or possibly an ex boyfriend) for him to be kinda awkward around to stand in for Duchess Satine.
A shady motherfucker for him to flirt with to stand in for Asajj Ventress

I'd love for novvy to have cr with ben!! He's a new Dreamer learning to navigate the life, and he'd be interested in picking Ben's brain about how to handle doing this long termly, because awakening has been novvy's big break.

Honestly he's so in my wheelhouse it's strange I didn't play him somewhere sooner.
Ben will, of course, be perfectly happy to talk about his experiences. He woke up as a dreamer when he was a teenager, and had someone around to show him the ropes (Qui-Gon Jinn, who I really should figure out what his deal was in this AU), and feels like he owes it to him to pass the favor on to the NEXT generation of dreamers.
Just actively criticizing each others' technique afterwards because they have completely different but complementary fighting styles. It's how they show camaraderie.
Character Name: Jun Gungjeon Canon: Tower of Valor (Original)
About: Jun is the son of a powerful Dreamer who is uninterested in actually helping the Dreamer Union, and has in fact been trying to figure out how to use his powers to take advantage of people in the physical world by like spying on their dreams or some shit.
After a flaming row with his father, Jun took off to Yumemigaoka in an act of teenage rebellion (the Gungjeons are fuckin' rich), declaring that he was going to HELP people instead of using his powers for himself like his father did.
Jun joined the Dreamer Union but gave out very little personal information. So it was a real big problem when a Nightmare got him. By the time he was rescued, Jun had lost most of his memories.
Dreamer Union doesn't know much about him, JUN doesn't know much about him, and his father isn't interested in contacting him, so Jun is kind of on his own in figuring out who he is. Fortunately (?), he's also a very angry and determined person, so he's just kind of plowing ahead and not letting his amnesia stop him from acting decisively.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Amnesia angst, butting heads with other hyper competitive types, trying to piece together his past, spending lots of money on frivolous things because he still has his debit card.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Ideally there will be no one around who can just tell him who he is, so honestly I wanna just kinda skimp on this. He should be a stranger in a strange land.

Character Name: Kujo Jotaro Canon: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
About: A marine biologist grad student by day, a tight lipped fist fighter by night known as Dreamer Platinum. Jotaro was an active Dreamer ten years ago. He kind of fell out of practice as he decided he didn't have time for this bullshit and went on to try and have a normal life instead.
The recent activity in the Dream Sphere has gotten him to, extremely reluctantly, start being active as a dreamer again. But that doesn't mean he has to like it.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I have absolutely NO plans this is a PURELY impulse decision but everyone likes Jojos, right!? He'll punch guys and stop time and it'll be cool!

About: Lin is a bastard. Not in the sense of being mean, she’s actually an absolute sweetheart. She’s a bastard in that her mom cheated on her dad and she was the result. It didn’t come out until just like a year ago, when her father got suspicious and did a paternity test. There were a lot of bad feelings unearthed by this, unsurprisingly, so when young Lin awakened as a dreamer, everyone involved was secretly thrilled to have an excuse to get her to go away.
She now lives in Yumemigaoka as a trainee member of the Dreamer Union, a student, and a part time barista.
You’d think someone in her position would be pretty bitter, but she’s actually quite happy. Lin had an unhappy childhood and for the first time in her life, she feels like she’s where she belongs.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: listen I just can’t ignore my main girl. Lin is an ever curious ray of sunshine who BELIEVES in doing the right thing with her whole dang heart. She will fit in fine.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: if you’re a fan of “grumpy/cheery” pairings and you’ve got a grumpy who needs a cheery…
Anything Else?: Berri drew Lin as like a magical butler a million years ago and I think that’s the vibe for Dreamer Thunder
She's gonna be a little different in this AU, since she's NOT from a post apocalyptic nightmare world and she also hasn't been training in kung fu since she was a little girl, but the heart of the character remains unchanged. Lots of energy! Do good by others! Learn about dating!
Character Name: Marisa Kirisame Canon: Touhou Project
About: The Kirisames are a clan of small time…not exactly crooks, but generally shady people. A lot of them run palm reading businesses, pawn shops, etc. This Marisa is SPIRITUALLY related to Reigan from Mob Psycho 100 in my heart.
Marisa herself, while still a little shady in her vibes, is currently on bad terms with her family because they didn’t want her to join the Dreamer Union but she went anyway to help people. Her heart is in the right place, but she’s also the friend you’d talk to if you wanted to buy weed.
She awoke as a dreamer during a nightmare attack and was saved by another independent dreamer. This other dreamer (who is nameless for now) taught her the basics in a master/apprentice situation before declaring that she knew enough to land on her feet. Marisa gets her power/skill from INTENSE practice and RIGOROUS experimentation, but goes out of her way to make it look like it comes naturally to her.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Marisa is a nosy busybody extrovert, so she’s not afraid to get in other people’s business if she thinks it’s interesting. Ideal for making friends with introverts and getting them involved with other people by dragging them along to social events.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: other Kirisames or people who know her family. Introverts to bother. Extroverts party with. People who would be interested in underage drinking or other such shady adventures. Specifically looking for: - Alice Margatroid, or a nerdy friend who borders on being more than friends and also who causes a horrible feedback loop of bad manners when they hang out - Reimu Hakurei, or a bff who has a highly competitive relationship with Marisa.
