Welcome to Beautiful Dreamer's very first AU/CR Plotting Meme! This first version is going up in advance of the game itself to give potential applicants the opportunity to feel out how they want to play their AUs as well as shopping around for pre-game CR and potentially some CR castmates...??? Perish the thought!
During future app rounds, the AU and CR Plotting memes will be split in two in order for new players to have a bit of breathing room in workshopping their CR but in this pre-game stretch while we're all chewing on the bars of our collective cage you get a two for one deal!
Don't feel as though you have to be 100% beholden to anything you brainstorm here – ultimately this is just to get ideas flowing and to help prebake some character connections before entry into the game. Feel free to also take a look around the FAQ pages or tag about on the TDM before posting here and generate some ideas that way!

Character Name: Frill Canon: Wonder Egg Priority (unfortunately)
About: A little more than a year ago, an odd website floated to the surface of Dreamer-oriented internet circles: FrillNet, an old-school message board oriented toward the needs of Dreamers on the fringes who aren't comfortable signing up with Dreamer Union. The sole moderator of the forum, a user with the display name of frill! and is allergic to sharing any details whatsoever about herself, but in addition to moderator-ly duties, she posts live updates about Torment and Nightmare activity in the Dream Sphere so that those who aren't privy to official Dreamer Union intelligence can keep fighting the good fight.
Around the same time, in particularly dusty corners of The Necropolis that are infested with powerful Torments and Nightmares, a mysterious figure (source) sometimes appears when Dreamers or Figments are in dire need of help, most often when some poor Figment has already had their memories ripped out and is at risk of even worse damage. The mysterious "Dreamer Latticewing" is never around for long, flickering into nonexistence after only a few moments, but even a few moments can be valuable in desperate situations. Strangely, she seems particularly inclined to protect regular users of FrillNet, and she'll often give them a cheery wave and smile before vanishing.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Frill's situation is very Spooky and Mysterious on purpose, and in particular she has absolutely ZERO presence in "real life" for Plot Reasons(tm). Still, I really want her to slowly start making actual friends, and hopefully maybe eventually she'll poke her head out into the real world!
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I'd really like to see regular users of FrillNet that have been there long enough or are charming enough to have had a few conversations with its mysterious moderator, since that's the closest thing that Frill can get to "friendship." Additionally, people investigating the mystery of Dreamer Latticewing would be a great help in progressing her personal arc!
Anything Else?: please for the love of god do not watch wonder egg priority it is an awful anime
one of the few things that genuinely brings garion joy in this world, much like in her canon, is discourse and discussion... how would frill like the first new registered user on frillnet to be a fundamentally broken person who talks to frill like an adult, organizes everything on the forum, and has outright invited frill to private discussions if she ever feels like it?

He has enough common sense not to go too far on his own before he has a grasp on his abilities, but once he's established himself better as a Dreamer, he'll likely traipse off to investigate the type of place Dreamer Latticewing might haunt. He has a nose for trouble, you know?
Character Name: Meow Mitake and Miyao Mitake Canon: When the Ciconia Cry
About: Miyao Mitake is a star student at his high school: straight As, hours and hours of community service, and a leader among the student body. The only reason why he isn't incredibly popular is his crabby personality, but even so, Miyao has a certain magnetism and youthful energy to him that makes him impossible to ignore. Furthermore, Miyao is the captain of the Ao Union Judo Dojo's competitive team, and is such an ace at the sport that there's whispers that he might one day be a candidate for Japan's Olympics team... despite his shrimpy stature. Secretly, Miyao is uncomfortable with the toxic, overly-competitive atmosphere, and he's established the "It's a Wrap Sports Chat" with fellow top aces and Olympic prospects across Japan to foster camaraderie and ensure that hard feelings don't turn their matches bitter. The chat has even gotten some international traction, as young martial artists across the world who are equally pressured have joined it to provide solidarity to one another.
Meow Mitake is Miyao's sister, and in the waking world, is a huge hermit. She only goes outside to sneak to the arcade in the baggiest, most face-obscuring hoodie that she can find and continue her project of putting MEOW at the top of the leaderboard of every cabinet she can get her hands on... but only at dead hours when nobody else is at the venue. She's also a huge nerd in many other ways, keeping up with the latest manga and anime, playing a variety of games in the comfort of her own room, and most prominently, working as a small-time Vocaloid producer. But in the Dream Sphere, Meow is Dreamer Caitsith, an incredibly dedicated, sweet young woman who gives her all to fighting the good fight as much as she can (while being quietly thankful that her Dreamer form's cat mask obscures her identity)... perhaps to an unhealthy degree, since fighting alongside her fellow Dreamers is the only way she socializes. Despite her passion for the cause, Meow has declined to join Dreamer Union, citing "p- personal circumstances" and refusing to elaborate.
Meow and Miyao share these "personal circumstances" because they share the same body. Meow is so careful not to give away her identity under any circumstances because she doesn't want to make her brother's life difficult, which is a situation that Miyao himself has... complicated feelings about. (For the record, there is nothing supernatural about their situation! It just happened naturally and the two of them have to deal with it.)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: While Miyao isn't a Dreamer himself at the moment, he's going to eventually awaken his powers after he unpacks some of his own baggage. As far as Meow goes, I'd really like for her to get some more self-confidence and eventually come out on her own terms because the girl desperately needs some more fresh air and sunshine,
Desired CR/AU Castmates: OH BOY HERE WE GO!!! For Miyao, needs both some kind of friendly sports rival and just some school besties that he hangs out with on the regular, since he's currently the more "mundane" of the two of them. Meow, meanwhile, needs some Dreamer coworkers even though she's not part of the union, and potentially a single confidant who knows the full reality of her and Miyao's situation. also maybe someone to get into a super petty gaming rivalry with would be INCREDIBLY funny

meow and ricky have never seen each other once in real life or even talked but they both have feelings of irrational hatred toward that one JACKASS who keeps on taking the top spot on the leaderboards of the arcade cabinets and it's half the motivation for why meow keeps coming back instead of just declaring her project finished after a certain point
