Character Name: the princess! she does not canonically have a name and i am still futzing with an au name tbh, so if anyone has thoughts i'm absolutely open to them. she will be a transplant to the area/japan in general from western europe. or maybe i'll just default to ella for jokes Canon: slay the princess
About: i am still working a lot of stuff out, but by the nature of the canon and character, the au is going to be Very Different. my rough plan right now is that she is the young adult heir (22ish?) to some very old and essentially powerless but rich aristocrats. she hasn't ever been that into the family business of doing nothing and complaining about the poor, but for some reason she's been targeted A Lot by enemies of her family, and after a recent kidnapping attempt that she foiled, she convinced her parents to let her leave for a while aaaand that's how she ended up here.
because that kidnapping actually led to her awakening! so her plan is to figure all that out, consistently escape her bodyguards, and try to be normal for five fucking seconds. good luck girlypop
Short Term & Long Term Plans: right now i'm in vibes territory! ultimately what i would like is to Play In The Space - because canon is setting-restrictive and cyclical, exploring the positives and negatives of her and how reactive she can be in a wider setting is my big #1 goal and i'm hoping to explore that icly through big fuckoff culture shock and generally adjusting to being a person with agency. beyond that, i'd really like to get to explore the differences between how she'll be as a Dreamer (much more open and honest) vs how she will be in the waking world (more reserved and controlled) and how that affects others' perception of her.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: pretty flexible! i'm open to anything with the caveat that she is going to be, like, literally a couple weeks new to the country, so anybody she knows she will just barely know. some ideas off the dome—
+ japanese tutor who has been tearing their hair out for weeks trying to get her to sound less Like That when she speaks + bodyguard(s) that she keeps escaping + A Pen Pal - maybe one of the reasons she wanted to come here in the first place? + somebody who helped her escape her bodyguard(s) sometime in the first few weeks and go do fun shit

this is really funny but a thing that got decided about connor when i was here a few months ago is that he's (extremely distantly) related to a european royal family so it would be UNSPEAKABLY funny if he was her pen pal and he's just like "fucking sucks here. hate it." every letter and she was like "the only other person i know outside this country lives in this city. i'll go there!"
this is destroying me both on a basic level and because this is an extremely princesscore decision. fuck your carefully thought out action, she's going to do this impulsive thing that gets her out of here Right Now!
extremely funny because he's also been out of the country until recently so he gets back and she just shows up like "hello what's the best way to escape your bodyguard" and he's like "for legal reasons i can't answer that until i call my mom"
WELL Bruno's in no position to have known her beforehand or very well in general, but IF he saw some random kid (okay she's in her twenties but he's old) fleeing some guys in the street he would totally just help her escape no questions asked?
I read "escape her bodyguards" and while I know the Slay the Princess canon I'm still laughing hysterically because that's a gag for one of the main characters in Geats too... It would be like Keiwa to just mindlessly be friends with Idols or the like without realizing/caring they're super famous.
Alternatively, I'm planning on apping Sonic (yes, the hedgehog) either this round or the next ICONS WHYYYY. So you can choose the good, quiet boy that is Keiwa or uh. That. 8D;;;
