Don't feel as though you have to be 100% beholden to anything you brainstorm here – ultimately this is just to get ideas flowing and to help prebake some character connections before entry into the game. Feel free to also take a look around the FAQ pages before posting here and generate some ideas that way!

Player Name: Kathrine Contact:chocolateisbrainfood Introduction: HI AGAIN. I kind of lost steam with Koharu (a lot happened in May that killed my drive with her, but not this game). I thought maybe picking an older character would give me a different niche to fill SO.
Character Name: Miyako Saitou Canon: Oshi No Ko
About: -- Teen Dreamer who was a nobody and never left an impact -- Fought a really powerful Nightmare at 16, lost most of her memories and was disconnected from her life and loved ones after. Vows never to go back into the Dream Sphere. -- Failed out of uni, worked at a hostess club trying to make ends meet. Met a guy named Ichigo Saitou who happened to be the owner of a talent management agency, Strawberry Productions. -- Eventually dates and marries Saitou and is introduced to his main Idol Group, B-Komachi and their star, Ai Hoshino. -- Ends up being Ai's mother figure and nanny for her twins despite being pretty young still herself. -- Ai moves away, their family kind of falls apart, Miyako is wondering wtf to do with her life. -- Ends up having to separate from Ichigo to find herself, starts her own talent management agency (Web of Dreams/Yume no Ami, Inc.) focused on internet celebs and influencers, majority of them being Dreamers. -- Moves to Yumemigaoka because most of her clients live her and reconnects with Ai. Tells herself she's happy and ignoring the pull of being a Dreamer again.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: My plans are to have Miyako being a stable figure on the Waking World side of things, but to eventually have to acknowledge she's still hiding from the trauma of her failed mess of being a Dreamer in her youth. She tells herself her past doesn't matter because she doesn't have one thanks canon, but really it's her avoiding the trauma of thinking she could disappear into nothing and no one would miss her or even notice she was gone. She has mostly worked through a lot of her issues, but this is something she still has locked down and refuses to work through.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I really would love for Miyako to be a mentor or maternal figure to people figuring themselves out because she's been through it herself. Anyone interested in being signed to her talent agency, or who can be outsourced to work with Web of Dreams, Inc., I would love that. She is here to make you go viral. Also would love for her to have CR with older Dreamers since that COULD have been her (or could still be her) had she not renounced being one. (And god if we could ever get a Saitou, I would do so many things and adjust her AU as needed because YES PLEASE).
I'm excited to have Miyako over here insisting she respects how much Ai has grown and that she's an Adult, while also just momming her without even noticing she's doing it sometimes because it's just Familiar. Ai's a woman who can take care of herself, but also did you remember to eat this morning before you ran out the door saving the world Ai, she brought extra breakfast smoothies don't ask her why it's in a separate thermos :|
lbr ai's so busy momming her actual kids and then all the other bonus kids she picked up at the DU that she probably really DOES need somebody to mom her at least a lil bit
There's some interesting overlap here with Yvette. She had a slightly similar beginning. Awakened at 10, and had a very nasty Nightmare encounter at 16. Only it wasn't her that lost her memories, but her Mentor. Said Mentor would also have been around when Miyako was an active Dreamer, starting out around 20 years ago or so.
It would definitely be interesting for Miyako to try to act as a small m mentor or maternal figure to her. She... actually would not have had a strong maternal figure since she moved away from home at 11. Given they both have trauma from Memory Issues, and Yvette is very clearly Hurting And Not Dealing With it, it could be a thing!
Just ignore that part where she's also trying to actively antagonize the organization the woman that's basically your daughter is the face of.
This is definitely an interesting parallel since what Yvette went through is what Miyako's family went through unsure how to deal with her amnesia and the way she couldn't connect to them anymore. She's the one who left and cut everyone off and tried to figure out herself without them around because it was too hard. And she lost her memories of before being a Dreamer while she remembers her time as a Dreamer more clearly than anything else.
It isn't something she talks about as she hides the fact she's a Dreamer, but those Vibes bleed through. She'd want to keep someone like Yvette under her wing so she's looked after properly and just have someone to talk to if she needed.
Yeah, the memory loss is almost like an inverse or mirror. Kenji lost everything after awakening, so he's suddenly a 34 year old man with the memories of his 16 or 17 year old self, who had this epic adventurous life he no longer has any connection with, which was also his career. And he decided to walk away from everything. The only reason he keeps contact with Yvette is because he was her legal guardian.
Oh right, and his non-Dreamer younger sister was always jealous of Yvette because she got to be his Dream Sphere play partner and naturally blames her for his injury.
Needless to say, having someone to talk with would be extremely helpful.
Miyako didn't keep in contact with anyone in her family or any of her friends after she failed out of uni. She's really great at being that listening ear for people, even if her advice can be blunt.
Him being someone she remembers as a Dreamer could make that interest since Miyako looks different enough that no one recognizes her as Dreamer Spinneret.
...now that I think about it, Zeke would likely be somewhat aware of her from his own history with Ai, and I could see him keep trying to lean on her for talent support of the Department for Armaments, Materials, and Necessities (Including Therapy). Help get the message across to both the people signing the checks and the public at large, Dreamers need help and it's okay to get it!

Miyako has never told Ai that she is a self-retired Dreamer. It's not something she talks about, although sometimes she does maybe sound like her advice is more from experience and less from general knowledge...

it would be incredibly funny to me if the mysterious PR person connor keeps referencing was miyako and he's just web of dreams' horrible little problem child who regularly disappears off social media for weeks at a time and she has to track him down like "please post a fucking selfie you wretched child i know you know how this works i have been your agent for five years"
This sounds hilarious and she's not unused to trying to manage someone who needs more direct monitoring and agent-parenting. So much sighing because SHE EVEN PUT REMINDERS ON YOUR PHONE YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR THIS.

Miyako!! Now I might be still trying to work out some details for Hibiki's AU, but Hibiki is by all intents and purposes a singer! What's one more singer to be a maternal figure towards? Nevermind that Hibiki is almost definitely a diehard Ai fan.
Hibiki needs so much mothering wise advice... still trying to decide how open Hibiki is about being able to sing (she's got those Aoi Yuuki pipes on her), but I'd love to have Hibiki signed to Web of Dreams! The majority of her posts WILL be pictures of food. So, so many food posts. Hibiki please post something else. What are you, a food blog?
Something I thought to clarify but only realized the literal next day—basically, I'd love if Hibiki at the very least had her toes dipped in the whole influencer thing but otherwise keep it as a small thing... and who knows, maybe at some point the fact she sings can be something that can be done with somewhere in the future. Either way, as a bonus, she gets a Mom! Everybody wins—
