Player Name: Kathrine Contact:chocolateisbrainfood Introduction: HI AGAIN. I kind of lost steam with Koharu (a lot happened in May that killed my drive with her, but not this game). I thought maybe picking an older character would give me a different niche to fill SO.
Character Name: Miyako Saitou Canon: Oshi No Ko
About: -- Teen Dreamer who was a nobody and never left an impact -- Fought a really powerful Nightmare at 16, lost most of her memories and was disconnected from her life and loved ones after. Vows never to go back into the Dream Sphere. -- Failed out of uni, worked at a hostess club trying to make ends meet. Met a guy named Ichigo Saitou who happened to be the owner of a talent management agency, Strawberry Productions. -- Eventually dates and marries Saitou and is introduced to his main Idol Group, B-Komachi and their star, Ai Hoshino. -- Ends up being Ai's mother figure and nanny for her twins despite being pretty young still herself. -- Ai moves away, their family kind of falls apart, Miyako is wondering wtf to do with her life. -- Ends up having to separate from Ichigo to find herself, starts her own talent management agency (Web of Dreams/Yume no Ami, Inc.) focused on internet celebs and influencers, majority of them being Dreamers. -- Moves to Yumemigaoka because most of her clients live her and reconnects with Ai. Tells herself she's happy and ignoring the pull of being a Dreamer again.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: My plans are to have Miyako being a stable figure on the Waking World side of things, but to eventually have to acknowledge she's still hiding from the trauma of her failed mess of being a Dreamer in her youth. She tells herself her past doesn't matter because she doesn't have one thanks canon, but really it's her avoiding the trauma of thinking she could disappear into nothing and no one would miss her or even notice she was gone. She has mostly worked through a lot of her issues, but this is something she still has locked down and refuses to work through.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I really would love for Miyako to be a mentor or maternal figure to people figuring themselves out because she's been through it herself. Anyone interested in being signed to her talent agency, or who can be outsourced to work with Web of Dreams, Inc., I would love that. She is here to make you go viral. Also would love for her to have CR with older Dreamers since that COULD have been her (or could still be her) had she not renounced being one. (And god if we could ever get a Saitou, I would do so many things and adjust her AU as needed because YES PLEASE).

About: rn it's mostly Vibes crossed with an old modern day AU I've had a couple years. He's a normie law student currently in college as far away from home as he could get away wtih and he hates it and wants to quit and be a theatre major or ANYTHING in entertainment SO BAD but he wants a Secure Plan for it first because his dad is 100% financially supporting him
also he may have done a bad thing as a kid and dropped off his little brother with randos somewhere in this city when he was supposed to be watching him years and years ago but don't. Don't worry about it. He's probably thriving out there.
Layer 2 is who his family is, aka an offscreen underworld crime dynasty he wants to take over and change dramatically except Shakespeare is so much funner than killing people or whatever. Has definitely shot someone before and would prefer not to again.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I'm hacking my brain to have less trouble keeping up with BD using this bastard. He's just a normie and will stay that way so I'm going to damsel the SHIT out of him and laugh the whole way. I do want to give him memory loss at some point from a nightmare attack

Player Name: Fickle Pickle Contact: DM me or Discord! Introduction: Hello! I may have just gotten Sachiko, but here I am with another character idea that kind of wouldn't get out of my head.
Character Name: Evette Goodwin Canon: Original!
About: Yvette is a character about dealing (or not dealing) with loss. She moved from America to Japan when she was only 11 in order to be trained by a Dreamer named Kenji, who became her legal guardian and Mentor. This all went very well until she was 16, when they with a full Unit of experienced Dreamers fought an especially terrifying Nightmare. Everyone ended up getting booted from the Dream Sphere, but Kenji didn't reappear until days later, and when he had he'd lost all of his memories since the time of his Awakening.
He cuts all ties with the Dreamer Union except Yvette herself, though not remembering her the relationship is effectively gone as nearly every connection they had is gone. This leaves a heavy emotional wound on Yvette that reopens every time she goes to see him, something she doesn't have the heart to stop doing despite knowing how much it's hurting her.
Feeling that the Dreamer Union's methods leaves young Dreamers woefully unprepared for the dangers and potential downsides that fighting in the Dream Sphere can cause, she begins proposing stricter, harsher training methods of a more militarized nature. Others aren't very receptive, and when she asks to be placed with a new Novice herself she's turned down, as those in charge realize she's in no emotional state to handle it.
She takes this personally and slowly distances herself from the DU, and eventually stops showing up to the Union or any Union events entirely.
Reappearing in the Dream Sphere with a new look and attitude, she begins directly attacking Novice Dreamers with the intent of forcing them to grow stronger through adversity, but keeps her reasons to herself, figuring that her goals will be best met if she's misunderstood and considered a villain.
Yvette has effectively already gone through a full character arc, having started out as a cheerful young Dreamer just having fun and enjoying the wonders of the Dream Sphere as Dreamer Little Witch, becoming an Experienced Dreamer and Mentoring new Dreamers herself, to slowly starting to take on a leadership role.
Then her world gets turned upside down and she starts questioning everything she knows, having a severe crisis of faith and turning against the people she once considered her consummate friends and allies. Still, even though she remakes her own image as Dreamer Stygian Witch and begins attacking those very former friends and allies, her heart is in the right place, even if she does her best not to let anyone realize it.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: My short term plans are for Yvette to attack Dreamers and cause a lot of confusion as to why anyone would ever consider doing such a thing. By simply putting questions like 'Why would a Dreamer ever attack another Dreamer? Aren't we all on the same side fighting Torments and Nightmares?' into people's minds she's already partially achieving her goals of toughening people up and helping them realize that despite being a wondrous dream world, the Dream Sphere can be a dangerous place with real world consequences.
Interfacing with other non or former DU aligned Dreamers is also an interest, and I definitely plan on having her post on the Frillnet! Likewise getting in contact with other people who've run into problems because of Dream Sphere related memory loss could be interesting, which also leads into the long term plans!
Which… are honestly kind of vague! Because it's honestly going to depend a lot on the kinds of people she ends up interacting with. I could see her both leaning into her villainous persona more and more, or going on some kind of redemption arc as she realizes people aren't as against her as she thinks.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: (This is the big one! If you're looking for particular prebaked CR or have some particularly important roles in your AU you'd like to fill, pitch them here!)
There are so many good ideas I have for CRs! Given her past, almost anyone who's been in the DU for any amount of time could potentially know her and her history. Her old mentor Kenji would have been a well known and beloved member himself, with Yvette having been his most promising pupil, so anyone who wants to have known and interacted with him would be great.
Other Dreamers who had been mentored by him would be an obvious strong connection, as they'd likely feel his loss just as much. His style of Mentoring was very casual, friendly, and playful. He taught people to treat fighting Torments more like a game, to be creative and imaginative with their skills and abilities.
Yvette too was a Mentor and it'd be awesome to have someone she'd trained around as well. It'd likely be very conflicting for her to see them again, especially if it meant having to fight them, or someone they were training.
Rivals in general are also sought after; after all this kind of concept doesn't work very well if there isn't someone around who wants to be menaced by a spooky Witch!
She didn't/can't get an official Novice to train from the DU, but she could absolutely unofficially take a Novice under her wing, and try to teach them with her newer, stricter ideas. Anyone gloomy or gothy, or that simply has a grudge against the Dreamer Union might work well!
And last but not least, interesting Waking World connections! She's very Dream Sphere focused, but Yvette is a heartbroken American girl that just graduated high school and is trying to start a new life as a young adult. She's 5'10" and sticks out like a sore thumb with bright red hair. At least her accent is mostly gone by now! She also works as a waitress at Remy's, a family restaurant in Asagi, which is how she supports herself.

Character Name: Cadeyrn Blackthorn Canon: OC
About: I still have to bash my AU into some form of coherence, but here are the big lines.
It's implied that Cadeyrn ran away from home; though it'll be hard to extract this out of him. He's more than old enough to manage, and his running away was less to do with cutting out people from his life than taking Firefly out of that lion's den.
Their mother Seraphina absolutely uses Dreams and Nightmares to further her own goals back home, and Cadeyrn was never able to prove or disprove it, or how she goes about it. The tipping point came when his little sister Firefly awoke as a Dreamer at just six years old and he just-- wants nothing to do with his family over there anymore.
Bringing Firefly over to Yumemikaoga seemed the strongest way to protect her from any further unfortunate Nightmare, and she now attends the Promised Morning academy. Acting as her support and parental figure, Cadeyrn is pretty familiar with the Dreamer Union and is personally scouting to find a mentor for Firefly. He does not stop her from reaching for the Dream Sphere, but he will prepare her as best he can, even if he himself cannot enter it.
Meanwhile, Cadeyrn himself is a university student, mainly focused into medical and law fields. He once was aiming to become a forensic investigator; but he's now starting to wonder about the effects of the Dream Sphere onto the Waking world.
People don't always die in the Dream Sphere, at least not permanently, but if they are stuck into a nightmare, over and over again; how would that affect their Waking World? Can people die of exhaustion related to the nightmares? How would one prove a crime that has taken place in the Dream Sphere? Could someone use nightmares and dreams to influence or even manipulate people around them?
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Short term is just playing catch-up and learning what has happened in BD so far. Long term plans, Cadeyrn will be looking into the source of the Dream Sphere, and what caused it to awaken. And what is possible (or not) to do in the Dream Sphere to another person.
He balances that with being Firefly's father-figure, and schoolwork; so he's permanently Very Busy.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Anyone who can make use of his pretty twisted situation back home (or the implication of it) is welcome! Other than that, schoolmates and friends who won't mind a permanently working smart young man with a bit of a sharp tongue. Cadeyrn is sarcastic and sassy and a bit of an asshole but he genuinely cares for people, and will often look into problems to spot the core of it, and nudge his friends to resolving their own troubles.
Dreamers who often crossed his path at the Dreamer Union are also an option, across all age ranges. Cadeyrn often checks in on younger Dreamers, just to make sure they're good, and to gift them with freshly baked sweets when they're having a rough time.
Next door neighbors in Koubai often end up being gifted with spare sweets as well. If his venture into forensic investigation doesn't pan out, Cadeyrn could open a sweets shop, and it would be a hit for sure! (Cadeyrn has never even considered that option himself).
Anything Else?: Just to make it clear; Firefly is not going to be 'on screen' all that much. There can be mentions of her; there can be rare occasions where she's playing nearby, but Cadeyrn is the character I'm actually using. If there's a scene between a character and Firefly specifically, it'll likely be handwaved.

This character probably won’t happen this upcoming app round but I did want to start planning the AU now.
Character Name: “The Warrior of Light” (a.k.a. Yuzuruha Shikibu) Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
About: Known as Dreamer Of Light (yes the Of is part of the name) in the Dreamsphere, Yuzu is a woman in her mid/late 20’s who lost pretty much all her memories 5 years ago. Things she knows for sure is that she was orphaned at a very young age and that she was already a Dreamer before she lost her memory (though called by another name she can’t remember). She tends to be a woman of little words, but has a very strong wanderlust, love of adventure, and a desire to help people and do what’s right. After not having any idea where “home” even was or any records of WHO she was, she somehow ended up in Yumemigaoka and became a part of the Dreamer Union.
As for Yuzu’s life prior to losing her memories, I do have a lot in mind for that but it involves a big spoiler for Shadowbringers that subsequently spoils stuff that came after that expac too so I’m hesitant to bring it up on a plotting post without better spoiler tags. Though like… honestly just me saying that probably clues the people who know exactly into what I’m putting down, so I’ll just leave it at that for now. Either way I’m not TOO interested in fleshing that part out without the actual relevant canonmates being involved (and I don’t really want to replace those characters with other characters either just in case) - everything after the memory loss though is fair game.
I also had a thought about her being a ward under a BD version of the Fortemps after her memory loss bc I have a lot of feelings about the Fortemps family and in particular Haurchefant’s impact on the WoL in canon but I am hesitant to put any of that in stone on the very slim chance someone wants to app him (I am super not expecting canon mates but you really never know). The other ones I can be a lot more vague about but I worry that one would be a little too specific.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: No concrete plans but I do want to mentor some Dreamers. Otherwise though I go with the flow!
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Mentees and colleagues! Friends and found family are very important to Yuzu. I would love a group that’s similar to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in canon (the WoL’s closest comrades who are basically family) though I don’t have anything super concrete in mind for wants there. I can also see her working all over the place at various odd jobs bc keeping in the spirit of the WoL being able to pick up a fuck ton of combat and crafting jobs, I characterize Yuzu as a jack of all trades who will give anything a shot, as well as highly valuing financial security bc of the orphan background I gave her.
I also have like… again, realistically no hopes of getting any FFXIV cast mates, but I would kill for any of the Scions or…… certain characters from her past life (again if you know you know) if just because I think there is some JUICY potential there. Again though, not getting my hopes up too high.
Anything Else?: I’m going to do my damndest to get “summon carbuncle” as one of Yuzu’s abilities even if her move set is going to be mostly dancer based bc just look at him. (Also I swear I will have better icons later the only caps I had on hand to use were from this recent patch msq don’t judge me too hard for the flower crowns)

Character Name: Serena Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V
About: --She has no idea who her biological parents are, possibly raised in foster care until she became a dreamer, or was adopted before that I haven't really decided. Considering a plot point in her canon though there's room for her to have anywhere from one to three semi-identical siblings running around the world, though in reality we're probably better off condensing that to one if the proper canonmate shows up. I usually wouldn't even mention it here, but Arc-V is the one anime series where "same-face syndrome" is actually plot relevant so the possibility of playing with that really has to be mentioned even if nothing comes from it.
...I should also figure out a surname for her before I app since she doesn't have on that we know canonically but I can worry about that later.
--She became a Dreamer a couple of years ago, but only recently managed to graduate from the Novice archetype because seriously who was going to let a ten year old go off to fight on her own.
--Related to the above, but probably tried to go into the Dream Sphere multiple times only to be pulled back by a mentor figure/bodyguard who was increasingly not happy with her for pulling that crap. Wouldn't be surprising if that kept her from graduating from Novice for even longer than her age otherwise would've.
-- Now that she's 14 and actually allowed to go deal with Dream Sphere business she moves to Yumemigaoka to get more involved and is also really eager to prove herself. Someone please make sure she doesn't end up over her head (or more actually bail her out when she does get in over her head).
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Honestly, I'm mostly going to be playing things by ear. Not only is this the first time I played in an AU game in like... almost a decade but she's a new muse to boot. On the plus side, I'm never going to be in a situation in this game where I'll have to write out a Yugioh duel. ^^
Desired CR/AU Castmates: --One of her mentors/caretakers/babysitters from when she first became a Dreamer. Not necessarily the one who had to deal with most of her crap and taught her most things, but it would be cool to have to have her deal with someone who remembers her as the ten to twelve year old who almost got herself killed trying to go off to fight multiple times.
--Friends her own age, which in theory shouldn't be too difficult but well, she's a little prickly sometimes. Actually a lot of the time. But that'll mellow out a bit eventually. Probably.
--Also people (possibly the same ones as above) who'll call her on her crap when she goes off and bites off more than she can chew.

Character Name: Illyasviel von Einzbern (usually just goes by Illya) Canon: Fate/Stay Night, technically Fate/Kaleid Liner but we don't talk about some aspects of that series....
About: I don't have some Super Detailed History yet, but the vibe I would love to go with is that Illya is a young girl who only had her Awakening very, very recently. And while she's always loved Dreamers and thought they were so cool, now suddenly being one herself is an entirely different beast for her.. Illya is very caught right in the middle between being kind of scared and reluctant about all of this overwhelming stuff and wondering if she should go join the Dreamer Union, yet feeling like she should probably do something with this power if it's given to her..?? The Struggle is indeed Real, especially when you're very young and all of this is just very overwhelming.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: See the above! I definitely want Illya to end up on the side of actually going for it and joining the Dreamer Union and actually doing her best at this being a Dreamer thing, but I think it's fun for her to first struggle with it for a bit!
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I'm open to a lot! Here's some ideas:
- Maybe some characters around her own age (Illya is 13!) who are her classmates at school, or even straight up friends from school or the neighbourhood or somewhere else.. She could use some in this time of Struggle.. I'm fine with them being either Dreamers too or regular people! - Definitely someone more mentor-like who could help her with her struggle, or just a Responsible Adult! Or just some slightly older teens who have known her for a while already and taken to keeping an eye out for her.. - I'm totally open for other things too, if you're reading all of this and have a fun idea, just let me know! c:

Character Name: Arianna Caledonia Canon: Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
About: Once upon a time, Princess Violetta of INSERT_COUNTRY_NAME_HERE awakened as a Dreamer. This would basically have just been tabloid fodder, except that a) this was back during the early days when Dreamers as a concept weren't widely understood or even known and b) Violetta disappeared a few years later under mysterious circumstances, causing some brief chaos. A lot of weird theories popped up about what was up with Violetta, like she was negotiating with aliens who abducted her or she was actually an angel or what have you, and even years later once the Dream Sphere became a thing people knew about, that stuff kind of stuck around (morphing into "she was a Dreamer who ___" variations) because nobody likes to give up on a good conspiracy theory, especially since there still wasn't a good explanation for why she straight-up vanished.
Fast-forward a couple of decades, Violetta's grand-niece Arianna is a cute kid who grows up to be a cute teen, and she looks a lot like Violetta and people start to get ideas about what this means for when Arianna awakens as a Dreamer because she definitely will. The royal family mostly responds to this by not letting her know about it so she doesn't get any Ideas... until she happens to awaken on exactly her 18th birthday and they freak the fuck out because that's the sort of thing that weird cultists and conspiracy theorists will latch onto as Significant and be dangerously weird about. So it very abruptly becomes Very Important for Arianna to Experience Other Cultures and blend in with the Common People.
Thus a Perfectly Ordinary Novice Dreamer named Anna Caldwell arrives in Yumemigaoka and starts doing Perfectly Ordinary Novice Dreamer things like working at a job and getting training at the DU. She is trying her best to seem Perfectly Ordinary and she is Not good at it because she's very sheltered and doesn't have a deceptive bone in her body, but she's so nice that it would just be rude to say anything, right?
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Specific plans are fake, but I do have one goal which is for people to figure out Arianna's real identity on a regular basis. She'll vaguely have "figure out what Violetta's deal was" on her radar, but given that she's on the wrong side of the world I don't really expect that to go anywhere.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: People who were involved in the whole "incognito princess" plan, whether setting things up or helping manage things while she's here (DU people would fit well here), would be fun to have around. Additionally, maybe some of the older characters could have known or known of Violetta? On the less-secret side of things, unless someone suggests an Amazing alternative I'm probably going to have her working as a waitress (as is semi-canon) so customers who could recognize her or co-workers would be nice. Also, people she's just randomly run into and been herself at?
Anything Else?: So after writing up that backstory I remembered this screencap existed:

He/him, chronically no idea how to introduce myself... But anyway, since Mari's been talking about Jeannette's adventures it finally struck me Cid here might work better as an AU than his canon self?
Long story short, in canon Cid is isekai'd from modern-day Japan into a fantasy world where all his greatest dreams come true; but he never, ever realizes that he's not just larping but with real magic. His story's something of a dark comedy, where the joke is that yes, he's fighting very real, very high-stakes battles... but as far as he knows, his grand adversary is imaginary and he's fighting hapless bystanders. Meaning Our Hero is... uh. not that heroic, to put it mildly,,, The fact that the cult he claims to be fighting is actually real, actually up to no good, and actually getting foiled by his shenanigans is a mix of his having (unintentionally) recruited some Actually Competent Underlings who do the real legwork and simple, pure serendipity.
Character Name: Cid Kagenou | Shadow Canon: The Eminence in Shadow (anime)
About: - Cid's older brother Minoru is a Dreamer; nobody particularly special, but Cid idolized him and just thought he was the coolest - Minoru didn't like to talk about his work much, so Cid let his over-abundant imagination fill in the details, coming up with a complex story of intrigue where his brother is saving the world from a mysterious cult! (Cid's loosely aware the cult is not real (probably) (unless...)) - Minoru eventually dies in a tragic traffic accident. Cid's narrative does not have room for this. His brother was way too cool for an ending like that. Maybe the cult was responsible? (But didn't he make them up? Unless...) - Cid manages to Awaken as a Dreamer himself, primarily due to his imagination just getting out of hand. He determines he must pick up his fallen brother's mantle and avenge him. (The cult totally put a hit on Minoru.) (Also Cid may now be Minoru reborn? Yes, that sounds amazing, he's going with that.)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Mostly I'm looking for a place where I could play around with Cid in his Background Character Cover Story mode and also his Shadow-Eminence Secret Identity mode, including the inherent absurdity of his "Cool Story" > "What's Actually Happening" mentality.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: If anyone wants to have known Minoru, and have Cid think to himself that ah yes, this must be his former tragically-forgotten comrade (because he's Minoru, he just doesn't remember anything beyond the cult); or possibly be a Mundane that Cid pointlessly tries to keep his secret identity from (they know what a Dreamer is, they know he's one... what is... he doing...) - anyway, would anyone else be interested in something like that?

— See, in Symphogear, Hibiki has a girlfriend. Her name is Miku Kohinata, and they are so intrinsically linked to each other that it genuinely feels wrong to not address her somehow. Now obviously it's something that should perhaps be left either vague or open to retconning in case we actually get a Miku, but as of right now? The idea is that Hibiki is a Dreamer while Miku is not.
So while Hibiki was transferred over to Yumemigaoka to be closer to the Dreamer Union, Miku has not, meaning that their relationship has been somewhat long-distance... with Hibiki taking quite literally every possible opportunity to go and visit her for extended periods of time.
Obviously everything above can be subject to change in the case of, well, an actual Miku... but I had to address it somehow, right? Right.

Mostly looking for happy fun RP times with Magical Girls, the occasional action, and the occasional angst.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: There are other Symphogear muses in here! Heck, they're the ones who've enabled me to come over here. I would love to brainstorm with other castmates on how their relationships would be in this AU! About: - Yuzu is an adopted 14-year-old girl who has no clue who her birth parents are, but despite how much he might annoy her, she loves her single adoptive father dearly. She awoke as Dreamer Melodious two years ago and only recently graduated from her Novice status before transferring to Yumemigaoka... even if she still feels like a novice at heart.
- Serena (see above) is actually her long-lost sister! Which is fairly obvious since she and Serena are almost completely identical. Surprise! Twins! Potentially quadruplets if you've watched Arc-V. This will come as news to her when she transfers to Yumemigaoka, so she'll be trying to figure out how to deal with all of that.
- Though her name is Dreamer Melodious (based on her card archetype in Yugioh), there are aspects of a certain dragon to her powers and it's resulted in her having more complications in mastering her abilities. On one hand she can summon cute little fairies to help and protect her in battle... but then her weapon is a fancy ornate red-and-green sword that can manipulate fire. (For those who are more familiar with Yugioh, it's Double Iris Magician's sword. She has Odd-Eyes aspects to her. Imagine in the future her being able to summon the full-sized Odd-Eyes. Huh? What will I do if someone apps in with Yuya? Uhh... LET ME BE SELF-INDULGENT OKAY!?)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: As I stated above in Hibiki's post, while I intend to get involved and what not, I'm mostly here to play things somewhat by ear and be casual. That's not to say I don't want to be involved in big plots... but I can tend to be flaky at times and in the end, I'm here for happy fun RP times. That said, I do actually have a goal in mind for Yuzu... being that I want her to gain more experience as a Dreamer, get stronger, and get a very specific ability that I may have mentioned above... because in the end I am very self-indulgent.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: ...imagine if we filled up the entire YGO cast limit with all four of the Bracelet Girls? Wouldn't that be hilarious? I kind of want that to happen LMAO. Imagine if we could suddenly have some wild Dreamer lore as to how or why they all have the same face?
Besides that, definitely looking for plenty of positive CRs! Fellow teenage friends, older parental figures/mentors, and uh... shippy things. Yuzu is bi and I'm just saying, it'd be wild if she were to end up with a girlfriend here.
On the other hand, Yuzu is decidedly a brain-cell owner... so I'd also love it if she were to end up becoming like a big sisterly figure to other younger characters... or even just the voice of reason, since somebody has to be.

-- Fought a really powerful Nightmare at 16, lost most of her memories and was disconnected from her life and loved ones after. Vows never to go back into the Dream Sphere.
-- Failed out of uni, worked at a hostess club trying to make ends meet. Met a guy named Ichigo Saitou who happened to be the owner of a talent management agency, Strawberry Productions.
-- Eventually dates and marries Saitou and is introduced to his main Idol Group, B-Komachi and their star, Ai Hoshino.
-- Ends up being Ai's mother figure and nanny for her twins despite being pretty young still herself.
-- Ai moves away, their family kind of falls apart, Miyako is wondering wtf to do with her life.
-- Ends up having to separate from Ichigo to find herself, starts her own talent management agency (Web of Dreams/Yume no Ami, Inc.) focused on internet celebs and influencers, majority of them being Dreamers.
-- Moves to Yumemigaoka because most of her clients live her and reconnects with Ai. Tells herself she's happy and ignoring the pull of being a Dreamer again.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: My plans are to have Miyako being a stable figure on the Waking World side of things, but to eventually have to acknowledge she's still hiding from the trauma of her failed mess of being a Dreamer in her youth. She tells herself her past doesn't matter
because she doesn't have one thanks canon, but really it's her avoiding the trauma of thinking she could disappear into nothing and no one would miss her or even notice she was gone. She has mostly worked through a lot of her issues, but this is something she still has locked down and refuses to work through.Desired CR/AU Castmates: I really would love for Miyako to be a mentor or maternal figure to people figuring themselves out because she's been through it herself. Anyone interested in being signed to her talent agency, or who can be outsourced to work with Web of Dreams, Inc., I would love that. She is here to make you go viral. Also would love for her to have CR with older Dreamers since that COULD have been her (or could still be her) had she not renounced being one. also he may have done a bad thing as a kid and dropped off his little brother with randos somewhere in this city when he was supposed to be watching him years and years ago but don't. Don't worry about it. He's probably thriving out there.
Layer 2 is who his family is, aka an offscreen underworld crime dynasty he wants to take over and change dramatically except Shakespeare is so much funner than killing people or whatever. Has definitely shot someone before and would prefer not to again.

Introduction: Hello! I may have just gotten Sachiko, but here I am with another character idea that kind of wouldn't get out of my head.
Character Name: Evette Goodwin

About:
Yvette is a character about dealing (or not dealing) with loss. She moved from America to Japan when she was only 11 in order to be trained by a Dreamer named Kenji, who became her legal guardian and Mentor. This all went very well until she was 16, when they with a full Unit of experienced Dreamers fought an especially terrifying Nightmare. Everyone ended up getting booted from the Dream Sphere, but Kenji didn't reappear until days later, and when he had he'd lost all of his memories since the time of his Awakening.
He cuts all ties with the Dreamer Union except Yvette herself, though not remembering her the relationship is effectively gone as nearly every connection they had is gone. This leaves a heavy emotional wound on Yvette that reopens every time she goes to see him, something she doesn't have the heart to stop doing despite knowing how much it's hurting her.
Feeling that the Dreamer Union's methods leaves young Dreamers woefully unprepared for the dangers and potential downsides that fighting in the Dream Sphere can cause, she begins proposing stricter, harsher training methods of a more militarized nature. Others aren't very receptive, and when she asks to be placed with a new Novice herself she's turned down, as those in charge realize she's in no emotional state to handle it.
She takes this personally and slowly distances herself from the DU, and eventually stops showing up to the Union or any Union events entirely.
Reappearing in the Dream Sphere with a new look and attitude, she begins directly attacking Novice Dreamers with the intent of forcing them to grow stronger through adversity, but keeps her reasons to herself, figuring that her goals will be best met if she's misunderstood and considered a villain.
Yvette has effectively already gone through a full character arc, having started out as a cheerful young Dreamer just having fun and enjoying the wonders of the Dream Sphere as Dreamer Little Witch, becoming an Experienced Dreamer and Mentoring new Dreamers herself, to slowly starting to take on a leadership role.
Then her world gets turned upside down and she starts questioning everything she knows, having a severe crisis of faith and turning against the people she once considered her consummate friends and allies. Still, even though she remakes her own image as Dreamer Stygian Witch and begins attacking those very former friends and allies, her heart is in the right place, even if she does her best not to let anyone realize it.
Short Term & Long Term Plans:
My short term plans are for Yvette to attack Dreamers and cause a lot of confusion as to why anyone would ever consider doing such a thing. By simply putting questions like 'Why would a Dreamer ever attack another Dreamer? Aren't we all on the same side fighting Torments and Nightmares?' into people's minds she's already partially achieving her goals of toughening people up and helping them realize that despite being a wondrous dream world, the Dream Sphere can be a dangerous place with real world consequences.
Interfacing with other non or former DU aligned Dreamers is also an interest, and I definitely plan on having her post on the Frillnet! Likewise getting in contact with other people who've run into problems because of Dream Sphere related memory loss could be interesting, which also leads into the long term plans!
Which… are honestly kind of vague! Because it's honestly going to depend a lot on the kinds of people she ends up interacting with. I could see her both leaning into her villainous persona more and more, or going on some kind of redemption arc as she realizes people aren't as against her as she thinks.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: (This is the big one! If you're looking for particular prebaked CR or have some particularly important roles in your AU you'd like to fill, pitch them here!)
There are so many good ideas I have for CRs! Given her past, almost anyone who's been in the DU for any amount of time could potentially know her and her history. Her old mentor Kenji would have been a well known and beloved member himself, with Yvette having been his most promising pupil, so anyone who wants to have known and interacted with him would be great.
Other Dreamers who had been mentored by him would be an obvious strong connection, as they'd likely feel his loss just as much. His style of Mentoring was very casual, friendly, and playful. He taught people to treat fighting Torments more like a game, to be creative and imaginative with their skills and abilities.
Yvette too was a Mentor and it'd be awesome to have someone she'd trained around as well. It'd likely be very conflicting for her to see them again, especially if it meant having to fight them, or someone they were training.
Rivals in general are also sought after; after all this kind of concept doesn't work very well if there isn't someone around who wants to be menaced by a spooky Witch!
She didn't/can't get an official Novice to train from the DU, but she could absolutely unofficially take a Novice under her wing, and try to teach them with her newer, stricter ideas. Anyone gloomy or gothy, or that simply has a grudge against the Dreamer Union might work well!
And last but not least, interesting Waking World connections! She's very Dream Sphere focused, but Yvette is a heartbroken American girl that just graduated high school and is trying to start a new life as a young adult. She's 5'10" and sticks out like a sore thumb with bright red hair. At least her accent is mostly gone by now! She also works as a waitress at Remy's, a family restaurant in Asagi, which is how she supports herself.
Anything Else?: I have my potential application written up as a post on this account, if anyone wants to read a lot of words on the character.

About: I still have to bash my AU into some form of coherence, but here are the big lines.
It's implied that Cadeyrn ran away from home; though it'll be hard to extract this out of him. He's more than old enough to manage, and his running away was less to do with cutting out people from his life than taking Firefly out of that lion's den.
Their mother Seraphina absolutely uses Dreams and Nightmares to further her own goals back home, and Cadeyrn was never able to prove or disprove it, or how she goes about it. The tipping point came when his little sister Firefly awoke as a Dreamer at just six years old and he just-- wants nothing to do with his family over there anymore.
Bringing Firefly over to Yumemikaoga seemed the strongest way to protect her from any further unfortunate Nightmare, and she now attends the Promised Morning academy. Acting as her support and parental figure, Cadeyrn is pretty familiar with the Dreamer Union and is personally scouting to find a mentor for Firefly. He does not stop her from reaching for the Dream Sphere, but he will prepare her as best he can, even if he himself cannot enter it.
Meanwhile, Cadeyrn himself is a university student, mainly focused into medical and law fields. He once was aiming to become a forensic investigator; but he's now starting to wonder about the effects of the Dream Sphere onto the Waking world.
People don't always die in the Dream Sphere, at least not permanently, but if they are stuck into a nightmare, over and over again; how would that affect their Waking World? Can people die of exhaustion related to the nightmares? How would one prove a crime that has taken place in the Dream Sphere? Could someone use nightmares and dreams to influence or even manipulate people around them?
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Short term is just playing catch-up and learning what has happened in BD so far. Long term plans, Cadeyrn will be looking into the source of the Dream Sphere, and what caused it to awaken. And what is possible (or not) to do in the Dream Sphere to another person.
He balances that with being Firefly's father-figure, and schoolwork; so he's permanently Very Busy.
Desired CR/AU Castmates:
Anyone who can make use of his pretty twisted situation back home (or the implication of it) is welcome! Other than that, schoolmates and friends who won't mind a permanently working smart young man with a bit of a sharp tongue. Cadeyrn is sarcastic and sassy and
a bit of an assholebut he genuinely cares for people, and will often look into problems to spot the core of it, and nudge his friends to resolving their own troubles.Dreamers who often crossed his path at the Dreamer Union are also an option, across all age ranges. Cadeyrn often checks in on younger Dreamers, just to make sure they're good, and to gift them with freshly baked sweets when they're having a rough time.
Next door neighbors in Koubai often end up being gifted with spare sweets as well. If his venture into forensic investigation doesn't pan out, Cadeyrn could open a sweets shop, and it would be a hit for sure! (Cadeyrn has never even considered that option himself).
Anything Else?: Just to make it clear; Firefly is not going to be 'on screen' all that much. There can be mentions of her; there can be rare occasions where she's playing nearby, but Cadeyrn is the character I'm actually using. If there's a scene between a character and Firefly specifically, it'll likely be handwaved.

Introduction: Hey! I already play here with my OC Odile (who I am going to do more with, I just got turbo bombarded with a bad time in May AND a heat wave). This character probably won’t happen this upcoming app round but I did want to start planning the AU now.
Character Name: “The Warrior of Light” (a.k.a. Yuzuruha Shikibu)
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
About: Known as Dreamer Of Light (yes the Of is part of the name) in the Dreamsphere, Yuzu is a woman in her mid/late 20’s who lost pretty much all her memories 5 years ago. Things she knows for sure is that she was orphaned at a very young age and that she was already a Dreamer before she lost her memory (though called by another name she can’t remember). She tends to be a woman of little words, but has a very strong wanderlust, love of adventure, and a desire to help people and do what’s right. After not having any idea where “home” even was or any records of WHO she was, she somehow ended up in Yumemigaoka and became a part of the Dreamer Union.
As for Yuzu’s life prior to losing her memories, I do have a lot in mind for that but it involves a big spoiler for Shadowbringers that subsequently spoils stuff that came after that expac too so I’m hesitant to bring it up on a plotting post without better spoiler tags. Though like… honestly just me saying that probably clues the people who know exactly into what I’m putting down, so I’ll just leave it at that for now. Either way I’m not TOO interested in fleshing that part out without the actual relevant canonmates being involved (and I don’t really want to replace those characters with other characters either just in case) - everything after the memory loss though is fair game.
I also had a thought about her being a ward under a BD version of the Fortemps after her memory loss bc I have a lot of feelings about the Fortemps family and in particular Haurchefant’s impact on the WoL in canon but I am hesitant to put any of that in stone on the very slim chance someone wants to app him (I am super not expecting canon mates but you really never know). The other ones I can be a lot more vague about but I worry that one would be a little too specific.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: No concrete plans but I do want to mentor some Dreamers. Otherwise though I go with the flow!
Desired CR/AU Castmates: Mentees and colleagues! Friends and found family are very important to Yuzu. I would love a group that’s similar to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in canon (the WoL’s closest comrades who are basically family) though I don’t have anything super concrete in mind for wants there. I can also see her working all over the place at various odd jobs bc keeping in the spirit of the WoL being able to pick up a fuck ton of combat and crafting jobs, I characterize Yuzu as a jack of all trades who will give anything a shot, as well as highly valuing financial security bc of the orphan background I gave her.
I also have like… again, realistically no hopes of getting any FFXIV cast mates, but I would kill for any of the Scions or…… certain characters from her past life (again if you know you know) if just because I think there is some JUICY potential there. Again though, not getting my hopes up too high.
Anything Else?: I’m going to do my damndest to get “summon carbuncle” as one of Yuzu’s abilities even if her move set is going to be mostly dancer based bc just look at him.

--She has no idea who her biological parents are, possibly raised in foster care until she became a dreamer, or was adopted before that I haven't really decided. Considering a plot point in her canon though there's room for her to have anywhere from one to three semi-identical siblings running around the world, though in reality we're probably better off condensing that to one if the proper canonmate shows up. I usually wouldn't even mention it here, but Arc-V is the one anime series where "same-face syndrome" is actually plot relevant so the possibility of playing with that really has to be mentioned even if nothing comes from it.
...I should also figure out a surname for her before I app since she doesn't have on that we know canonically but I can worry about that later.
--She became a Dreamer a couple of years ago, but only recently managed to graduate from the Novice archetype because seriously who was going to let a ten year old go off to fight on her own.
--Related to the above, but probably tried to go into the Dream Sphere multiple times only to be pulled back by a mentor figure/bodyguard who was increasingly not happy with her for pulling that crap. Wouldn't be surprising if that kept her from graduating from Novice for even longer than her age otherwise would've.
-- Now that she's 14 and actually allowed to go deal with Dream Sphere business she moves to Yumemigaoka to get more involved and is also really eager to prove herself. Someone please make sure she doesn't end up over her head (or more actually bail her out when she does get in over her head).
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Honestly, I'm mostly going to be playing things by ear. Not only is this the first time I played in an AU game in like... almost a decade but she's a new muse to boot. On the plus side, I'm never going to be in a situation in this game where I'll have to write out a Yugioh duel. ^^

About: I don't have some Super Detailed History yet, but the vibe I would love to go with is that Illya is a young girl who only had her Awakening very, very recently. And while she's always loved Dreamers and thought they were so cool, now suddenly being one herself is an entirely different beast for her.. Illya is very caught right in the middle between being kind of scared and reluctant about all of this overwhelming stuff and wondering if she should go join the Dreamer Union, yet feeling like she should probably do something with this power if it's given to her..?? The Struggle is indeed Real, especially when you're very young and all of this is just very overwhelming.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: See the above! I definitely want Illya to end up on the side of actually going for it and joining the Dreamer Union and actually doing her best at this being a Dreamer thing, but I think it's fun for her to first struggle with it for a bit!
Desired CR/AU Castmates: I'm open to a lot! Here's some ideas:
- Maybe some characters around her own age (Illya is 13!) who are her classmates at school, or even straight up friends from school or the neighbourhood or somewhere else.. She could use some in this time of Struggle.. I'm fine with them being either Dreamers too or regular people!

Introduction: it me. Ricky's not really working for me and an AU for Arianna popped fully formed into my head so
Character Name: Arianna Caledonia
Canon: Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
About: Once upon a time, Princess Violetta of INSERT_COUNTRY_NAME_HERE awakened as a Dreamer. This would basically have just been tabloid fodder, except that a) this was back during the early days when Dreamers as a concept weren't widely understood or even known and b) Violetta disappeared a few years later under mysterious circumstances, causing some brief chaos. A lot of weird theories popped up about what was up with Violetta, like she was negotiating with aliens who abducted her or she was actually an angel or what have you, and even years later once the Dream Sphere became a thing people knew about, that stuff kind of stuck around (morphing into "she was a Dreamer who ___" variations) because nobody likes to give up on a good conspiracy theory, especially since there still wasn't a good explanation for why she straight-up vanished.
Fast-forward a couple of decades, Violetta's grand-niece Arianna is a cute kid who grows up to be a cute teen, and she looks a lot like Violetta and people start to get ideas about what this means for when Arianna awakens as a Dreamer because she definitely will. The royal family mostly responds to this by not letting her know about it so she doesn't get any Ideas... until she happens to awaken on exactly her 18th birthday and they freak the fuck out because that's the sort of thing that weird cultists and conspiracy theorists will latch onto as Significant and be dangerously weird about. So it very abruptly becomes Very Important for Arianna to Experience Other Cultures and blend in with the Common People.
Thus a Perfectly Ordinary Novice Dreamer named Anna Caldwell arrives in Yumemigaoka and starts doing Perfectly Ordinary Novice Dreamer things like working at a job and getting training at the DU. She is trying her best to seem Perfectly Ordinary and she is Not good at it because she's very sheltered and doesn't have a deceptive bone in her body, but she's so nice that it would just be rude to say anything, right?
Short Term & Long Term Plans: Specific plans are fake, but I do have one goal which is for people to figure out Arianna's real identity on a regular basis. She'll vaguely have "figure out what Violetta's deal was" on her radar, but given that she's on the wrong side of the world I don't really expect that to go anywhere.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: People who were involved in the whole "incognito princess" plan, whether setting things up or helping manage things while she's here (DU people would fit well here), would be fun to have around. Additionally, maybe some of the older characters could have known or known of Violetta? On the less-secret side of things, unless someone suggests an Amazing alternative I'm probably going to have her working as a waitress (as is semi-canon) so customers who could recognize her or co-workers would be nice. Also, people she's just randomly run into and been herself at?

Introduction: Hi! I'm Mordrid, a few players here may remember me from Ryslig or otherwise know me from plurk. He/him, chronically no idea how to introduce myself... But anyway, since Mari's been talking about Jeannette's adventures it finally struck me Cid here might work better as an AU than his canon self?
Long story short, in canon Cid is isekai'd from modern-day Japan into a fantasy world where all his greatest dreams come true; but he never, ever realizes that he's not just larping but with real magic. His story's something of a dark comedy, where the joke is that yes, he's fighting very real, very high-stakes battles... but as far as he knows, his grand adversary is imaginary and he's fighting hapless bystanders. Meaning Our Hero is... uh. not that heroic, to put it mildly,,, The fact that the cult he claims to be fighting is actually real, actually up to no good, and actually getting foiled by his shenanigans is a mix of his having (unintentionally) recruited some Actually Competent Underlings who do the real legwork and simple, pure serendipity.

About:
- Cid's older brother Minoru is a Dreamer; nobody particularly special, but Cid idolized him and just thought he was the coolest
- Minoru didn't like to talk about his work much, so Cid let his over-abundant imagination fill in the details, coming up with a complex story of intrigue where his brother is saving the world from a mysterious cult! (Cid's loosely aware the cult is not real (probably) (unless...))
- Minoru eventually dies in a tragic traffic accident. Cid's narrative does not have room for this. His brother was way too cool for an ending like that. Maybe the cult was responsible? (But didn't he make them up? Unless...)
- Cid manages to Awaken as a Dreamer himself, primarily due to his imagination just getting out of hand. He determines he must pick up his fallen brother's mantle and avenge him. (The cult totally put a hit on Minoru.) (Also Cid may now be Minoru reborn? Yes, that sounds amazing, he's going with that.)
Short Term & Long Term Plans:
Mostly I'm looking for a place where I could play around with Cid in his Background Character Cover Story mode and also his Shadow-Eminence Secret Identity mode, including the inherent absurdity of his "Cool Story" > "What's Actually Happening" mentality.
Desired CR/AU Castmates:
If anyone wants to have known Minoru, and have Cid think to himself that ah yes, this must be his former tragically-forgotten comrade (because he's Minoru, he just doesn't remember anything beyond the cult); or possibly be a Mundane that Cid pointlessly tries to keep his secret identity from (they know what a Dreamer is, they know he's one... what is... he doing...) - anyway, would anyone else be interested in something like that?

Introduction: Hello! I've been recc'd this game a month ago by friends and already I am both in love with the premise and considering... possibly another character as well. But one character at a time! For now...
Character Name: Hibiki Tachibana
Canon: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
About: I wish I had a more concrete idea at the moment, but here is what I'm leaning towards!
— Hibiki awakened as a Dreamer two years prior when she was 15, and as a result is 17 years old now. This would make her a fairly experienced Dreamer... and as for where she's been until now? Why, on vacation of course!
— Dreamer Gungnir
— She's a reliable and skilled Dreamer, but she has a bad habit of working too hard and taking too much of a load onto herself.
— See, in Symphogear, Hibiki has a girlfriend. Her name is Miku Kohinata, and they are so intrinsically linked to each other that it genuinely feels wrong to not address her somehow. Now obviously it's something that should perhaps be left either vague or open to retconning in case we actually get a Miku, but as of right now? The idea is that Hibiki is a Dreamer while Miku is not.
So while Hibiki was transferred over to Yumemigaoka to be closer to the Dreamer Union, Miku has not, meaning that their relationship has been somewhat long-distance... with Hibiki taking quite literally every possible opportunity to go and visit her for extended periods of time.
Obviously everything above can be subject to change in the case of, well, an actual Miku... but I had to address it somehow, right? Right.

— VERY good singer and avid enjoyer of Karaoke, but she tends to downplay her singing ability. Maybe she'll gain some powers related to singing later?
In any case, there is still PLENTY of room to work with here.
Short Term & Long Term Plans: I'm likely to be playing things mostly by ear and being fairly casual about things... and I do apologize if, as a result of this, I end up getting flaky on our threads. Mostly looking for happy fun RP times with Magical Girls, the occasional action, and the occasional angst.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: There are other Symphogear muses in here! Heck, they're the ones who've enabled me to come over here. I would love to brainstorm with other castmates on how their relationships would be in this AU! I already have a few ideas, but seeing as how they're ideas for characters who aren't here, I'm keeping those to myself for now.
Other friends her age who she can be chaotic with would be amazing, honestly. Put all of the dumbasses together, everyone. It can only go well, trust me.

Introduction: You may recognize me from the Hibiki AU plotting comment literally right above this one. That's right, I only intended to app in one character but then things happened and, mixed with my lack of self-restraint, has resulted in this.

- Yuzu is an adopted 14-year-old girl who has no clue who her birth parents are, but despite how much he might annoy her, she loves her single adoptive father dearly. She awoke as Dreamer Melodious two years ago and only recently graduated from her Novice status before transferring to Yumemigaoka... even if she still feels like a novice at heart.
- Serena (see above) is actually her long-lost sister! Which is fairly obvious since she and Serena are almost completely identical. Surprise! Twins!
Potentially quadruplets if you've watched Arc-V.This will come as news to her when she transfers to Yumemigaoka, so she'll be trying to figure out how to deal with all of that.- Though her name is Dreamer Melodious (based on her card archetype in Yugioh), there are aspects of a certain dragon to her powers and it's resulted in her having more complications in mastering her abilities. On one hand she can summon cute little fairies to help and protect her in battle... but then her weapon is a fancy ornate red-and-green sword that can manipulate fire. (For those who are more familiar with Yugioh, it's Double Iris Magician's sword. She has Odd-Eyes aspects to her. Imagine in the future her being able to summon the full-sized Odd-Eyes. Huh? What will I do if someone apps in with Yuya? Uhh... LET ME BE SELF-INDULGENT OKAY!?)
Short Term & Long Term Plans: As I stated above in Hibiki's post, while I intend to get involved and what not, I'm mostly here to play things somewhat by ear and be casual. That's not to say I don't want to be involved in big plots... but I can tend to be flaky at times and in the end, I'm here for happy fun RP times. That said, I do actually have a goal in mind for Yuzu... being that I want her to gain more experience as a Dreamer, get stronger, and get a very specific ability that I may have mentioned above... because in the end I am very self-indulgent.
Desired CR/AU Castmates: ...imagine if we filled up the entire YGO cast limit with all four of the Bracelet Girls? Wouldn't that be hilarious? I kind of want that to happen LMAO. Imagine if we could suddenly have some wild Dreamer lore as to how or why they all have the same face?
Besides that, definitely looking for plenty of positive CRs! Fellow teenage friends, older parental figures/mentors, and uh... shippy things. Yuzu is bi and I'm just saying, it'd be wild if she were to end up with a girlfriend here.
On the other hand, Yuzu is decidedly a brain-cell owner... so I'd also love it if she were to end up becoming like a big sisterly figure to other younger characters... or even just the voice of reason, since somebody has to be.
